People vote their personal interests.

Republicans: Save the Republic
Democrats: Free stuff.
Save the Republic? Yea right.

Here's the difference between the two parties. Republican are every man for himself. Unregulated, free market capitalism. It never works as we see now.

Democrats see the value in government. I think you Trump MAGA hypocrites do too. All that talk about "keep the government out of our capitalism" was utter bullshit. You guys have your hands in EVERYTHING. Trump is no conservative. Which tells me you'll be led like a puppy wherever your leaders tell you to go. If they want to go to war in Iraq, god damn it you will defend their lies to the bitter ******* end. If Trump says boats off the coast of Venezuela have drugs in them, you believe it. Without any proof. If your leaders want to waterboard/torture, you're down with that too. You guys really are the Nazi's of America. I mean if any group could become Nazi's, it's MAGA aka Republicans AKA conservatives. So easily duped by the conservative media and politicians.

So I don't know what you mean about free stuff. We are all working very hard and not getting paid enough to pay our bills. Meanwhile, Trump has doubled his wealth in 11 months. So have all his rich buddies.

Their wealth doubled in 11 months. You are getting poorer via inflation. How ******* stupid are you? Or are you rich?

The reason capitalism doesn't work for everyone is that not everyone saves their money. Money is the capital in Capitalism. Capitalism at its root is saving and investing in appreciable assets. The poor prefer to spend their money on shiny things that capitalists produce.

The $2000 Trump said he was going to give isn't "free stuff"?
If it's just being returned to those who paid it in taxes, no. It would be for those who don't pay taxes.

It's little different than the stipend Alaskans receive each year from oil revenues.

I pay taxes. I have for near 50 years. I want it returned in UHC.

Socrates lived in democratic Athens but was a vocal critic of the system. He believed that voting was a skill requiring deep rational thought and education, not a right to be given to all citizens by birthright. He argued that allowing uneducated people to choose a city's leaders was as irresponsible as letting an untrained person captain a ship.
Nor was Socrates wrong about this. Too many of our elections are like middle school and high school elections, meaning the popular students--or what "felt" best to those voting. My own position is that all citizens should be permitted to earn the right to vote in each individual election.

Democrats see the value in government.
The problem is is that their leaders always make sure their own pockets (and those of their cronies) are lined to the tune of hundreds of thousands--even millions--before and while they are assuring voters money is going to the poor. Take a look at the profits that, via Obama Care, are going to insurance companies and pharmaceuticals. Millions of dollars in both New York and California were earmarked for the homeless--without the homeless seeing a penny of it while bureaucrats were paid large salaries to come up with a plan.

It goes back to the well-known Chinese proverb: Give a man a fish he eats for a day; teach him to fish, he is set for life. Republicans see Democrat failures just as clearly as Democrats see Republican failures. It's why the two need to learn to work together.

"Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach him to fish and all he'll want to do is go fishing."

Dems and Repubs "working together" guarantees gridlock. Even worse if neither side knows what the hell they're doing.

The last people we want "solving" our problems are politicians. :omg:

I know right? I remember we couldn't get real healthcare reform past all the sellout senators so we had to allow the insurance giants a seat at the table and they wrote the ACA. It was a gift to them.

Don't forget what they put in Obamacare. Every American citizen MUST buy insurance or get hit when you file your taxes.

I remember I wasn't making jack shit and my monthly for healthcare was $300 a month. My employer re embursed me but then as soon as he stopped I cancelled it. No way I could have afforded $300 a month.

The ACA is for those who can't afford private health insurance, not for those who can.

I think future humans are evolving away from religion. It’s cute when you find out someone is religious but most of the people I know aren’t. My brothers family is. But his kids aren’t. In their 20s who knows but so far not religious.

And that’s okay. We are good people. And we’re okay with people believing whatever they want. It shouldn’t be an emotional conversation about the existence of a higher power or one person telling you you’ll go to hell for not believing.
You are free to worship the creation or the creator. Choose wisely.

I think you are mistaken. And define "can't afford"? A lot of people "can afford" healthcare but then they can't afford a lot of other things they should be able to afford. Rent, and Healthcare, are eating up too much of our disposable income. Or our income period.

My brother is a retired millionaire. I don't think it matters what you "can afford". I don't think they look at my brother and say "you can afford to pay top dollar so **** off". They look at what he made last year. He's retired but consults for $300 an hour. So he doesn't make as much as he used to make when he was a VP of a Fortune 500. He made $1 million PLUS healthcare benefits and he now runs that $300 hr through a LLC just like the Biden crime family or the legit Trump family who never did nuthin wrong.

Anyways, long story short is he does qualify for some subsidies. He didn't make that much last year, has 2 kids in college and a wife. His healthcare is now $30K a year after Trump did away with the subsidies. At least that's what he told me and he's still MAGA.

People can afford $1400 a month healthcare when they have no other choice. And I think you would be much harsher on people than I would regarding who can and can't afford subsidies.

I have private health insurance through my company's group plan. We're not on Obamacare and we pay much less than those that are. It's a cruel irony that insurance is most expensive for those who can least afford it. It's like pouring water on a drowning man.

Yes, small business health plans benefit from the Affordable Care Act (ACA) through programs like the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) and tax credits, which help make coverage more affordable and stabilize premium increases. The ACA also increased the number of small-business employees with health coverage and lowered the rate of premium increases since 2010.
