Perhaps the playoffs should be like the old days. Play the games on consecutive nights at one city, a day off and play games consecutive nights in the other city and so on. Cut the days down.

This Spurs team is better than I thought, Wemby is better than I thought, Dylan Harper (son of Ron Harper) is a breakout star, and Castle and Fox have both been having a solid series so far. This team has both offense and defense, as does the Thunder.

Supposedly Thunder created to deal w/ the Nuggets IIRC! Unfortunately for them San Antonio came into its own very early w/ Wemby being a force of nature as a rookie! It so reminds me of Duncan being drafted & winning right away! Very impressive start! :omg: :stir::rolleyes:

OKC struggled against the Spurs in the regular season.

Wemby's arms seem like they are 8 feet long. He blocks shots even when he's out of position. And he has a fluid shooting stroke, what a freakish athlete!

I thought Wemby was 7'4", but twice I heard an announcer say he was 7'7" tall. They were wrong, he is 7'4". Heard a good story about back in the day, I guess Kareem got in 6 fights on the court in his career, where he was throwing punches, guys were doing to him what they are doing to Wemby, and we saw how Wemby reacted to Naz Reid.

Back in the day you could be a lot more physical.

Considering how OKC struggled against the Spurs this year, I'd expect them to go right after Wemby. Also what's the over/under on SGA flops?

They are not calling as many fouls on him these playoffs, I've noticed much of his flopping has not been rewarded. He should never get as many calls as he does.

That might be the worst playoff collapse I've ever seen. Harden pretty much put on a Knicks jersey in the 4th quarter. Whoever wins the West will run over either one of these teams

Damn another great OT game I just missed! Cleveland blew a 22 pt lead? Another Harden playoff collapse? I think the Knick’s knew their playoff history losing game 1 at home.

  • The team that wins Game 1 of the Conference Finals has gone on to win the series 78.2% of the time in NBA history.
  • The Knicks defeated the Cavaliers 4-1 in the first round of the 2023 Eastern Conference Playoffs.
  • New York is 12-2 all-time against Cleveland in the Playoffs.

I turned it on with 5 minutes to go in the 4th and you could already see the Cavs panicking.
NY has a recent history of pulling out these close games with clutch performances and Cleveland does not. No doubt that helped them close this one out. They are not as good as either Western team but their clutch wins might surprise some people in the next round,

I don't know these East teams except that Brunson is a heckuva closer. But he needed the help of a total collapse not only by the players but the coach as well. Up 22 with 7:30 to go and you lose? WOW

Harden will be excoriated tomorrow on "the sport shows!" It's nothing new! w/ Harden I wish I could understand why teams continue to pay this dude premo $$ when his history is to fail miserably in the playoffs? How many times does it have to happen? I used to feel sorry how football is running over the NBA, but they've been "shooting themselves in the head" this entire millennium going back to the controversial Laker/ Kings WCF in 2002! I really haven't cared much since then! The highlights of today's game isn't enuf to keep me entertained! I surf away during the best of games these days! Their 2 time MVP is only a couple years removed from being suspended for openly playing w/ guns! That's so bizarre to me! :omg: :stir::p:dunno:

I'm no Harden fan by any means, but when you're up 22 with 7:30 to go it took the whole team and the coach to lose that one. The Cavs were jacking up 3 pointers like THEY were down! :confused-84:

There was a lid on the Cavs backet! It made no sense! I kept turning away only to come back seeing a turnover, fast-breaks, & quick play by the lowly Knicks! All of a sudden, they're on a hot streak & looking like favorites! :dunno: :oops::D

Also, the Knicks had several days off and could have been rusty and still won.
