who will win the NBA Finals

I ordinarily don't watch NBA but I just happened to catch the last 5 minutes of yesterdays Celtics/76ers playoff game 7. I used to watch NBA back in the Larry Bird, Magic Johnson days.

The last 5 minutes of this game was the most pathetic thing I ever saw. Celtics couldn't BUY a basket. After almost tying the game, they went on a miss streak of about a dozen consecutive shots.

Then, with 8 seconds left (too little too late), they finally got a bucket.
CHOKE!!!

Celtics were 32-0 in playoff series when up 3-1 until tonight, think of those players on those teams that went 32-0, all kinds of NBA all time greats. Boston could not handle Embid and Maxey without Tatum. They did not matchup well, but Brown showed up. 3 point shooting did them in at the end.
Their 3-point shooting did them in the last 3 games.

Game 5 11-39
Game 6 12-41
Game 7 13-49

All 3 games below 30%. Jalen Brown scored a lot last night but he was terribly inefficient. 33 points on 27 shots.

By comparison Maxey scored 30 on 18 shots.

Tatum played in 3 of the 4 games they lost to Philly BTW. Embiid didn't play in games 1-3. Boston needs to rethink its playstyle. They have 2 of the best athletic wings in the league on the same team they shouldn't be going out in the first round to a Philly team who played half the series without its best player.

Two game 7's today, and both dogs are getting +8.5.

I think Toronto covers, and no one knows what Magic team will show up in Detroit. They could just as easily win this game as they could lose by 40 points.

I see a path for the Knicks to win the East, the matchup with Philly will be great to watch.

I'm the Genius who picked DEN. I'm also one that was high on ORL. OTL has 3 scorers. DET has one? We'll see. Yes we will.

Do you think Lakers laid down to get one more game at home and all that revenue? Nothing in it for the players so unlikely. But it all seems so convenient. Suddenly HOU doesn't look like crap?

I can't believe the Piston's came back from being down 3 games to 1. But Cade was coming off a collapsed lung. Maybe now he's 100% where he wasn't in games 1-4.

  • Recent Performance: In late April/early May 2026, he recorded games of 27, 25, 45, and 32 points.
  • Tobias Harris turns into Michael Jordan in Pistons' Game 7 win

  • Harris finished the game with 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting (including 5-for-7 on 3s) while hitting timely shot after timely shot.

  • 30 PTS 9 REB 2 AST 3 STL 1 BLK 11-18 FG

The reason the Pistons came back from 3-1 is because of two guys: Franz Wagner and Cade Cunningham. The first 4 games of the series, when they were up 3-1, Wagner shut Cunningham down. Then he got injured, and Cunningham averaged over 30 points a game for the final 3 games, all wins. He did nothing the first 4 games.

Orlando Tragic. Franz Wagner was the closer in the final 2 minutes of the early games in the series.

But still, Orlando had a 24 point lead in game 6 and scored 19 points in the 2nd half of that game. That's on Banchero, Bane, Suggs and Carter.

As a Warriors' fan I became a bandwagon Magic fan in the playoffs but now I guess I'm a bandwagon Wolves fan

As a Warriors fan since birth, and a Kings fan, I have always hated the Lakers. I like Chet Holmgren. But I think I might hate OKC more than I hate the Lakers with SGA's bullshit trying to get fouled style of play.

Before the playoffs started I think Banchero said if the coach was not fired he would demand a trade, the coach almost took down the #1 seed, only to get fired after losing a series he led 3-1. Orlando is a great spot for an experienced coach.

wow, the Magic scored 19 points in the 2nd half of game 6 after they were up 24 points. You can't fire a player. You have to fire the coach who would probably be signed to an extended contract if his players had come through.

This is life. So much of life is chance.

is it possible for the Knicks to win their 1st championship since 1973, or is the winner of OKC vs San Antonio too much to handle?

1973 Knicks;
  • PG: Walt "Clyde" Frazier
  • SG: Earl "The Pearl" Monroe
  • SF: Senator Bill Bradley
  • PF: Dave DeBusschere
  • C: Willis Reed

  • Record: 57–25 (.695)
  • Head Coach: Red Holzman
  • Finals: Defeated Los Angeles Lakers (4-1)

The Knicks have a great path after they dispatch Philly. Both Detroit and Cleveland are led by two veterans who are playing very well but am not sure how long either can go. Harden is less likely to lead his team there, just based on his playoff history, and Harris has been in the league about as long as Harden, and he is playing way better than I think most expected. I like Detroit and NY in the Eastern Finals.

The West, though, is tough. My dark horse champion pick is the Timberwolves at +3000, and after their loss, they are now +4000. $50 wins you $2,000.

Cunningham has found his stroke since a slow start to the playoffs and has been going off, 3 consecutive of 30+ to end the Magic series, and Harris has had 7 consecutive games of 20+, I don't think he did this consecutively one time in the regular season, dude has been money. And Duncan Robinson was money all night

Cade Cunningham is a man of God who praises the almighty. And his team in full of physical monsters. Overlook Detroit at your peril
