Prior to COVID almost all unions s did not have the right to strike so they were toothless tigers. Their impact now is shriveling away as they still lack that power. Conservative state and local governments are taking away the power they assumed before Trump took office. Your opinions are noted and dismissed as being outdated.

If you strike as a teacher in the state of Florida, they revoke your teaching certificate, rendering you unemployable. Other states won't even hire you with a revoked certificate. Apparently, you are talking out of your ass again!

The biggest problem that I have with what you believe is that the fault of not firing bad teachers is the poor quality of the administrators and school boards. I was an assistant principal for two years and attempted to fire two teachers who were shiftless and an alcoholic. I fired the two teachers because I gave them due process and proved they sucked at their job. The school board had no option but to agree once they had their hearing. I had my ducks in a row.

You have heard of the infamous "rubber room" in NYC where teachers were awaiting their hearings for many months and sometimes years? The fault was with the people accusing the teachers because they did not have any evidence of the charges they were trying to stick those teachers with. I am certain there was evidence, but they botched the investigations, meaning had they gone forward, they would have had to admit the charges were not valid.
