This is not surprising to anyone who follows the NEA's actions over time - especially during the Pandemic - but the conclusion is unavoidable that teachers' unions are the worst thing that ever happened to public education. Their MISSION is political indoctrination (after screwing the taxpayers, of course).

A pox on every legislator who ever voted to allow teachers to form and join unions. It is incompatible with education.

The sole purpose of teacher's unions are to elect more Democrats, so their districts can get more government money.

Our only hope as a nation is a national Federally Funded School Voucher program.

Public Education is just taking America's kids, homo raping them, and grooming them to be lifelong moronic Dem voters.

Teacher's unions have little to nothing to do with what is taught in classrooms.

Total and complete BS. Teacher unions gained power during g the pandemic because the Biden administration and blue state governors allowed them to run amuck. Prior to COVID almost all unions s did not have the right to strike so they were toothless tigers. Their impact now is shriveling away as they still lack that power. Conservative state and local governments are taking away the power they assumed before Trump took office. Your opinions are noted and dismissed as being outdated.

No right to strike? Are you kidding? It differs from state to state, but they sure as hell can strike where I live in PA, and I suspect in all the "usual suspect" states like CA, NY. NJ, IL, and MA.

Incorrect. I fully support individuals commanding the wage their abilities justify in a competitive free labor market.
Im all for 3x the wage made here for the same exact product overseas ifvan american citizen is making it.

Ask yourself: What do all of those states have in common? As for the rest of the country, you will find that the right to strike is non-existent. That is why those states lag in compensation. A school district only has to say this is your 1% pay raise and you are going to like it! What are you going to do about it?

You need to put away your broad brush because out here in flyover country we have been and continue to do it right.

They have a lot to do with keeping sub-par educators employed, though.
No. They don't. All they can do is force administrators and school boards to follow due process. I personally fired two teachers as an administrator and got zero pushback from the union because I had my ducks in a row and they were gone. They didn't even fight because they knew they would lose. I have been on the other side two as several of my principals tried to railroad me, but due process showed I was in the right and the accusations were false.
