My issue with both sides

Then they are guilty of obstruction when they refuse to turn over the ones they have in jail, while a federal order of deportation exists....

They are unable to do that.

Bull shit....

Remember the years of "anchor babies" and I would note that there is no such thing and we have seen minors get deported with their parents.

Very little can improve as long as our politics exist in a system that incentivizes and rewards the worst impulses of its participants.

That has to be first. Anything else is a band aid that keeps falling off.
RCV would really help in this regard. Divisive, extreme candidates aren't rewarded.

Respect is earned....And boy, you have not earned it.
I have no interest in earning your respect.

I am advocating for respecting fellow citizens and democratic elections.

What? Now the Left doesn’t even exist?
😂
You appear to be confused.

I have not seen "the left" defined by those who are haunted by whatever they see it as.

Is it the majority of Americans who disapprove of Trump?

I have no idea how to get a populace to care about this kind of thing. I do know that our history and civics education has completely failed us.
I would begin by asking every candidate whether he respected certified democratic elections, even if the American electorate did not accommodate his wishes.

Respect for democracy is basic.

As an Independent, I try to move past the name calling, personal attacks and childish behavior I see both sides sling at each other and dig a little deeper into the pros and cons of each side. I won't bore you with the pros, so let's look at my biggest complaint with each side.

Democrats: Get off this sanctuary cities bandwagon. This lame attempt to override federal immigration laws is only dividing our nation and is just, plain illegal. The correct way to deal with this is to go through the legislative and/or judicial steps to change the law. - You don't ignore the law.

Republicans: Stop attacking our electoral system: Donald Trump's own hand-picked judges as well as others on the Federal bench found no evidence of election fraud. The same system that declared Biden the winner in 2020, also declared Trump the winner in 2024. - So, stop attacking.

Those are the facts Jack - Just the facts. :disbelief:
We Republicans are not attacking and have not attacked our electoral system.

Your claim is void of support.

"Independent" my ass.

They were not looking for fraud

The goal was cover up election cheating and prevent Trump from being reelected

I wonder how much of the electorate would pay attention to the answer. It hasn't worked with Trump.
If the question is deemed irrelevant, American democracy is dead.

Three cheers for the losers. Democracy cannot survive without them. Democracy is, after all, a method to both express and then peacefully resolve debate...
That system starts to break down the moment the losing side fails to graciously, or at least grudgingly, accept defeat.
Acceptance legitimizes the system, reaffirming democracy’s promise that candidates can lose now and carry on to fight another day. Refusing to accept defeat, on the other hand, has dangerous consequences, vividly illustrated by the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol by Donald Trump’s supporters.
Once recounts, audits, and appeals have been exhausted, the will of the People must prevail.

Sadly, but as usual, you’re wrong.

The concept of “anchor babies” is quite real.

But it’s not the focus of the debate. The focus of the debate is whether merely being born here — despite the fact that your parents are not American citizens — ought to make a newborn baby a “citizen.”
