Musk and the Third party...

Nah. You'll have a third party full of moderates and independents, which I traditionally am.
You are entering the realm where optimism and positivity will actually be your downfall.
Being intellectually honest means exploring all the things you don't necessarily agree with, or in your case exploring all the possible negatives that could arise from your decisions.
I challenge you!
Think of some of the negatives that could arise from Musk's third party.
Are there better alternatives that would achieve the same goals?

If you believe that, please knock off the drugs. They are rotting your brain.

Wants to believe? Those are not fictional characters mentioned in the post.
Do you see any fictional characters mentioned there that would require belief?

Musk is cooked.

I need to see the Party Platform outlined before I even consider giving it any serious attention.
Of course ... It's highly unlikely to be successful unfortunately. We've basically been ground into the construct of two choices that ultimately turn out to be just a single choice. Sure there's a lot of antipathy between the two parties openly that serves as entertainment for the masses. Most of it is nothing more than a WWF showmanship game designed to keep you looking away from the fact that all of those bastards are getting rich on your time and your dime.

Is it going to change? Probably not.

Where are you getting this $5 trillion figure? Every time you people post the deficit gets bigger and bigger by a trillion.
It's a 10-year projection probably assuming the worst of everything.... It's also ignoring the potential for increased revenue to offset what has been deemed a loss.

I forgot to highlight your last statement with which I actually disagreed. My mistake. Your first part is dead on. The last sentence, not so much.

Yes please..... Nothing would please me more than to see a serious third party take hold.... One with deep pockets and the ability to actually stand up to the uniparty. I don't know what's going on between him and Trump and I don't care.

I do care about political freedom though and we will never have that until we break the two party hold.

Go Elon!. .DOOOOOOOOOO IT!

I’m with Elon. Trump is increasing the debt.

We're in desperate need of a strong and viable third party (and a fourth would be great), but Musk has proven himself to be an unstable character (for those of us who think character matters) and not good at executing within a government structure.

"Moving fast and breaking things" can be a perfectly effective philosophy in a business/entrepreneurial environment, but not when you have the lives of millions of Americans in the palm of your hands and the power of the government behind you.

If he wants to fund it and let someone else run it, I'd be open to that. Maybe that would inspire someone else to start and fund party #4, which would be some good freakin' news. It's past time the two "major" (ha) parties had some serious competition.

I still think a party aimed at consensus government is vital. Politics as a stand-in for civil war isn't working.

It’s not gonna be a Cold Covil War much longer if the Democommies have their way

They = ANTIFA / Black Bloc / BLM / Anti Israel Marxists / Anti ICE
Yeah - I'm not going to play this game with you. They both suck and any sane person knows it.

Wow, that was a long word salad.

Here's the problem. The problem with the two party system is that it doesn't represent the swath in the middle that is neither hard right nor hard left. But these people are also not sufficiently engaged to politically organize.

So, after all these years of Libertarians mounting a third party, why they stuck at 5%?

Because third parties don’t work.

um, that was exactly my point.

Here's the thing. Third parties usually have a short shelf life.

For instance, the most successful recent Third Party was the American Independent Party led by George Wallace (In that it was the last one to score any electoral votes).

But all it really reflected was that Southern Whites were no longer aligned with the Democrats, and they threw a one-cycle hissy fit before re-aligning with the Republicans.

Same thing with Ross Perot's "Reform" Party. It reflected those who were upset about budget deficits and trade, before they filtered back to the two main parties after some minor concessions were made
