The secular humanism socialists are complicit with sectarian humanism socialists in collaborating with theistic communists and theistic capitalists , so that us tax payers fund religious instruction , indoctrination and proselytizing to captive audiences of children and adolescents by means of private school voucher programs .I don't understand all the fretting about these "Democratic Socialists" getting elected in municipalities around the country.
What I see as a valid concern is the D-S candidates who are getting elected to Congress, and the similar people - usually hiding their personal ideologies - who are being nominated and appointed to the Federal courts. That's where it becomes a problem. As for cities, WGAF?
Congress allowed Trump to purchase an interest in corporations so the US owns part of the company. What do you call that?![]()

The basics of "socialism" are fairly well known. Private property is abolished, the Sovereign owns not only all property but also the means of production (farms, factories, etc.), workers control how production occurs and how they participate in it, the resources of the society (e.g., food, housing, medical care) are equally available to all, and every citizen is equal.
Socialism is incompatible with the U.S. Constitution because, among many other things, the Sovereign is not empowered to confiscate property for such uses, not empowered to produce any non-military goods, and in fact not empowered to provide individual benefits to the citizens and/or residents of the country. Democrats, of course, ignore this last one.
As a result, absent a focused group of Constitutional Amendments, the U.S. government cannot implement a socialist regime. But Democrats in Congress, aided by a compliant Supreme Court, have managed to implement numerous policies and programs that have a socialist bent, with the biggest examples being Social Security and Medicare, both of of which are grossly unconstitutional, since Congress lacks the "power" to create or manage them.
But I digress.
Who cares if a municipality wishes to implement LOCAL policies and programs that emulate the "Workers' Paradise"? What if a city wants to build a large number of apartments or houses with city funds and make them available to the citizenry at a minimal cost? So what? What if a city wants to open a chain of supermarkets to operate at - or below - cost, so that the local citizens can buy food at the lowest possible cost? And so on.
Why would that matter to anyone who is not living in that city and/or paying its taxes? As long as MY Federal or State taxes are not subsidizing those programs, they should be free to do whatever they want, as long as they don't step on the guidelines of the U.S. Constitution. I may think that those supermarkets are a stupid, counterproductive idea, but to me it's just entertainment, like watching professional sports.

These political scientists never graduated from school. The first sentence of this post is a lie and I stopped reading. Socialism does not abolish private property ownership. That's a complete lie and everything posted thereafter is the product of a false premise.
These political scientists never graduated from school.
Washington D.C. local government gets a lot of money from the federal government, and they still screw it up.Trump told reporters at the White House this month that “we won’t put up with it” if Lewis George won and that he would consider a federal takeover of Washington. (Hey Don, GFY)
Lewis George said in a statement in response: “Threatening Home Rule because you do not like how residents vote is an attack on democracy itself. The people of D.C. elect the mayor of D.C. And they want someone who will stand up to Donald Trump.”
While Trump loomed over the race, local issues took center stage, as the candidates discussed plans to lower crime and promote affordability, especially with regard to housing.
OMG! She wants to lower crime and promote affordability. Run for the hills, hide in the basement! The commies are coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Something close to insider trading and conflicts of interest through no bid contracts , nepotism and selective endowment to fiscal libertarians ( economic liberals ) entreating kleptocracy .Congress allowed Trump to purchase an interest in corporations. What do you call that?
Such is not a sufficient justification , as there are two clauses in us first amendment and both must be satisfied concurrently .said 'indoctrination' in public education has become a million $$ battle with the feds Monk

None are contesting that children be disallowed from attending and receiving private instruction from sectarian or religious schools , which is the extent to which that ai overview would be applicable .AI Overview
The U.S. Supreme Court has repeatedly affirmed that parents possess a fundamental, constitutionally protected right to direct the upbringing, education, and care of their children, as long as it does not directly risk the child's safety and well-being. Recent decisions have reinforced these rights across multiple domains.

Even in this Court's balance, Monk's Eye is not upheld.
Yes, he does. Very shallow.IF the child is attending private religious institution, there is no violation of the Constitution. How ever if that child is attending a private secular school, the separation of church is still upheld. A secular school is by definition secular and no religious preference taught, then the separation of church and state is upheld. He makes a shallow argument.

The free exercise meme applied to dispatch the respect for an establishment of religion is incorrect , traitorous , disingenuous and deceitful , as both clauses of us 1st amendment must be satisfied concurrently , else one exercises the intellect of a HALF WIT .
Us governments contract for non sectarian products or services , full stop , period , end of story .
That contracts for non sectarian products are services does not prevent sectarian organizations from competing for and providing non sectarian products or services , whereby both clauses of us 14th amendment are concurrently satisfied .
Nothing should prevent a sectarian institution from facilitating a private school to provide non sectarian instruction , and that would be a non seditious conclusion of scotus .
The dumbfounded decision by scotus in carson v makin is sedition for failing to intimate and elucidate a clearly apparent and common sense conclusion to validate us first amendment rather than committing sedition against it .
Those legislatures which implement positive liberties of endowments from taxpayers , for use as funds for religious education , even indirectly via private school vouchers , constitutes respecting an establishment of religion , and is treason against us first amendment .

ON WRIT OF CERTIORARI TO THE UNITED STATES COURT OF
APPEALS FOR THE FIRST CIRCUIT
[June 21, 2022]
CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS delivered the opinion of the Court.
Maine has enacted a program of tuition assistance for parents who live in school districts that do not operate a secondary school of their own. Under the program, parents designate the secondary school they would like their child to attend—public or private—and the school district transmits payments to that school to help defray the costs of tuition. Most private schools are eligible to receive the payments, so long as they are “nonsectarian.” The question presented is whether this restriction violates the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment.
...
Maine’s “nonsectarian” requirement for its other wise generally available tuition assistance payments violates the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. Regardless of how the benefit and restriction are described, the program operates to identify and exclude otherwise eligible schools on the basis of their religious exercise. The judgment of the Court of Appeals is reversed, and the case is remanded for further proceedings consistent with this opinion.
