I was looking up info on a blade the other day and came across a post saying the Mora 510c "All-Around" or "Craftline" was available again.

3.75" blade in a very useful handle profile. Carbon steel. Poly handle/sheath with either belt or button attachment options.

It's still a "cheap knife" at less than $20.00 but it's real world worth far exceeds it's modest price. I've used one for years but could never find another one.

No idea on how long these will be available.

I got mine off of eBay but here's an Amazon link.

Great looking fish skinner.

Not my ideal profile for field dressing, but I've had to use worse.

Interesting handle and sheath material.

My old one stays "scary sharpe". We tested it once at hunt camp, we skinned-out seven deer and caped-out a 275# bear.

I took it inside and cleaned the fat off of it, stropped it a few times, and it was right back to "scary sharp". I've never seen a knife like it.

And no, it's not a damn "fish knife", I have old stainless Case XX for that. It's spent a lot of time on the outer banks. ;)

Like I said, I've used worse.

I prefer the shorter blades for field dressing. Though I don't have as many under my belt as you do.

I like the shorter blades that I can put my finger down the full length of the back of the blade. To keep the tip from hitting anything I don't mean to. Plus shorter blades are easier to reach up into the neck cavity, in the pelvic areas, etc.

I think mine is a Western. (I'll share a pic later) it starts out sharp, but doesn't hold as long as what you said.

I haven't used a knife to completely gut a deer in ages, I just cut through the breast bone on one side then insert a gut hook widget you wear on your finger called a deer zipper and open it up.

I even use it to cut the wind pipe and diaphragm.

The next time I use a knife it when I cut the nuts/pecker off. Then pull out the asshole/bladder with a "butt-out" and cut it away. My knife hardly gets bloody.

I've only gutted a few and I doubt there will be anymore but I didn't even know those other tools existed.

If I was killing deer near hunt camp I'd not even bother gutting in the field at all, drag it in, hang, skin, then gut into a wash tub.

LOL, my last deer, I cheated and dragged it to the edge of the woods and then the rest of the way to the barn with my Scag.
