I couldn't believe in 2010 a candidate would think he could win on these attack ads:
Andy Martin: U.S. Senate Candidate, Homophobic Jackass - Chicagoist

I heard two ads:
(1) Kirk is a closet fag. Really it was nearly that crude.
(2) Kirk is a pediphile! Actual words.

I was shocked to say the least. I thought it was a joke until I say the stories on this. Although I was very upset by Kirk voting in favor of cap and trade, I will 1000% more motivated to vote for him over Andy.

The Illinois Republican Party disavows the statements made today by Mr. Andrew Martin in his statewide radio advertisements. His statements today are consistent with his history of bizarre behavior and often times hate-filled speech which has no place in the Illinois Republican Party. Mr. Martin will no longer be recognized as a legitimate Republican Candidate by the Illinois Republican Party.

In addition, it has been brought to our attention that Mr. Martin's sources are now denying any such statements or allegations. According to Raymond True, a leader of the Republican Party in Lake County:

"Mr. Martin did not contact me in any way before making his announcement. The comments attributed to me are completely false. I request through the media that Andy Martin cease and desist from making any additional statements that are incorrectly attributed to me."

Glad to see the party is willing to distance themeselves from this shit. There is no room in our political system for homophobes like this. I hope they stick to their guns if Martin wins the primary and give him zero funding assistance. This is one candidate I would intentionally go to the polls to vote against, no matter who their opponent is.

I don't spend much time watching TV so no, I haven't heard the ads. As of late I have only seen the attack ads against Quinn. Which if true, (support of a 50% state income tax increase) are likely to make sure he doesn't stay in office.

I only heard the radio ads.

The Quin attacks are true. He wants to increase the income tax. He has stated this.

Kirk could be the only one running and I would not vote for him. He is a moderate Rino republican. I would rather have a Democrat in the seat than this guy!!! You would know what you are getting!!!
