That's funny, since the Sun is a Rupert Murdoch rag. It's exactly how he made his fortune before bringing us the TV version, Fox Noise.
What do you care what a TV outlet's ratings are? Do you buy or sell commercial time? For that matter, why does Drudge care?
Because it shows what happens when you become a biased mouthpiece for the politicians. Once the people have figured out that you don't report accurately (and as has been shown on a couple of occasions, made things up) they stop watching you.
Uh, this just in son -- "reporting accurately" -- or inaccurately --- is not what sells eyeballs. At all. Never has been. You armchair media critics who think audience ratings have something to do with some sort of "agree/disagree" vote are completely in the dark.
Audiences are built by emotional hooks. Conflict, drama, morality plays. That's why WWE has any viewers at all. That's why onstage paternity tests and camera crews following people around in secret and naked people walking around on an island all exist. It has nothing to do with what the content actually IS.
