I enjoy going to Texas.Q more than Florida and California is a no go. I haven't been to California in 15 years.Texas power grid is in shambles. I wouldnt want to deal with it.
Prove it.I can’t tell from your post if you agree the grid sucks. It fails every year. They are having issues this summer.
maybe the migration has slowed because most of the sane people that can afford to move have left CA ..Looks like you get what you pay for. Right wing celebrities are starting to see why living in a red state "blows" to quote Rogan's show. Terrible services and terrible amenities are apparently not worth the tax break you get if you are rich. We already know the taxes paid by the poor and middle class in Texas are higher than almost anywhere else due to property taxes and sales taxes.
Politics aside, Texas does suck. The topography is lame and the beaches stink. I dont get the appeal. Florida and California have waaaaaaaaay better beaches. The mountains in Texas arent great or as accessible as they are in the west or in the smokies. Rivers are less accessible. I get the cowboy ranch fondness if that is your appeal. But you can have horses in better states. To each their own though.

'Moving to Texas is over': Podcasters who followed Joe Rogan to Austin rail against state
In 2020, podcaster Joe Rogan announced he was moving from Los Angeles to Austin with loud fanfare, according to Chron. His big appeal at a time of mandatory masks was Austin’s lax mask requirement, along with lower taxes.Plenty of Rogan’s comedian friends announced they were following in his...www.alternet.org
"Texas f—————— blows," said comedian Shane Gillis, one of Rogan’s “canceled” friends who moved from New York to Texas after getting fired from Saturday Night Live for using an anti-Asian slur. “It's hot as f————. The second we ran out of power [after a storm], the house was 90 degrees and bugs came in immediately."
"Yes, the taxes are better,” Dillon said on his podcast, “And yes, there are benefits to not being in LA. And yes, LA has a host of problems … But I moved here because … I said, something new will be good. I was wrong."

Texas is now home to 31 million people even as population growth slows
Texas added nearly 563,000 residents within the last year, new U.S. Census Bureau estimates show.www.kvue.com
The state didn’t add residents as quickly as it did the previous year, the rate of its population growth was 1.8%
Meanwhile, Texas saw fewer residents move from other states than it did during the COVID-19 pandemic — when the state attracted residents from places like California and New York in search of more affordable homes among other factors.
Why domestic migration to Texas slowed isn’t clear, said Lloyd Potter, the state demographer. With domestic migration appearing to slow, Texas will likely rely on international migration to meet its labor needs as the state’s economy booms, he said.
State sales tax in California is higher than in Texas.
Like everything else in life, the better things cost more. Most people in California also pay more in property taxes due to the grossly inflated home values there.
Like everything else in life, the better things cost more.
Or maybe the word is out Texas sucks.maybe the migration has slowed because most of the sane people that can afford to move have left CA ..
Bullshit. San Fran is 100%s the city Dallas is.Is that why there is so much shit and so many dirty needles on the sidewalks of
San Francisco, because it costs more?
Other than BBQ I can’t imagine what you are seeing there of interest.I enjoy going to Texas.Q more than Florida and California is a no go. I haven't been to California in 15 years.
My Dad ran a plant in Arkansas for a year. Does no one in the state ever see a dentist.NW Arkansasss, it's such an asshole place it has three s's...I hate Arkanslaw, but god damn there has been no unemployment since 1993. You can work eight days a week self employed, and never get caught up; there is so much work here, it's a frenzy...
It's Wal-Mart land, and it even has Wal-Mart convenience stores where the prices are the same as in the super stores...
Bullshit. San Fran is 100%s the city Dallas is.
Like everything else in life, the better things cost more.
Sure. Everyone knows you’re a liar. Add it up yourself if you think that isn’t accurate:Fake news.
This thread is about people moving to Texas thinking they will have great living at low cost only to find shitty living at a cost savings to the rich and still higher costs for the working class.California has higher sales taxes than Texas, so why are people moving to Texas?
