As for the scenario of anyone seceding, yes I support it. Years ago when Bush-Cheney were in the White House, the State of Vermont wanted to secede and become part of Canada. I supported that.

Back to Staten Island, they’ve always been known as the “forgotten Burrough” so now might be the time to break apart from NYC if that is what the people want.

Just think of how it would enrich Staten Island. Businesses would relocate there and bring with them thousands of job opportunities.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense. Establishing smaller, self-governing communities, instead of indenturing communities into a massive socialist blob gives the politicians more accountability.

The police and volunteer fire companies answer to the local people who have skin in the game. There are 47 different municipal governments here in Mercer County, PA, and the general vibe including crime rate is a lot lower than in major urban conglomerations like Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.
