I notice that Bart Starr doesn't show up on any of these lists yet he is probably one of the all time best QBs. Back when he played, the game was grueling and the rules allowed you to kill the QB. Few of the candy-asses getting stardom and awards today could have survived playing back in his day when Football was really still football.

To me the big oddity is Brett Favre. 3 MVP’s yet I’d put Marino, Elway, Montana, maybe even Jim Kelly ahead of him For his era.

QB's of today would make look it like a video game if they were transported back to when Bart Starr played. Josh Allen would have been as big as the DL and Lamar Jackson would be twice as fast as anyone else on the field. The average DL was 6'2" 250 in the 70's Allen is 6'5" 240. He runs over guys in the modern game he would murder dudes in the 70's. Josh Allen is essentially Dick Butkus playing QB only Butkus wasn't quite as big as Allen is. You would have never heard the names Starr, Bradshaw, etc if Jackson, Mahomes and Allen played then.

Marino was better above the shoulders, but he had no PO success. Kelly wasnt as talented as Farve and also has zero rings. Elway and Montana should be ahead of Favre

MVP is fairly meaningless to me. If you're not winning a title, then it hardly matters.

But no one will get rid of it now. It's provides too much fodder for dumb talking head shows.
