CAIRO - An American tourist died in a hospital in Cairo on Friday, one day after he was injured in a bombing at a bazaar that also killed a French woman and the bomber.
A total of 18 Egyptian, American, Turkish and French people were wounded Thursday when a bomb packed with nails exploded at a tourist bazaar located near a mosque.
Egyptian police officers collect evidence at the explosion site in Cairo's Old City on Thursday.
Witnesses say a man on a motorcycle set off the explosion near Cairo's al-Moski Street, which was crammed with shoppers and foreigners.
The blast site is located not far from Cairo's famed al-Azhar mosque.
Palestinian behind Sinai bombings, say officials
The U.S. Embassy in Cairo has warned Americans to stay away from the neighbourhood of the bazaar in case of more attacks.
The last major attack on Egyptian soil occurred in October, when 34 people were killed at a resort in the Sinai Peninsula.
Thursday's attack was the first bombing aimed at tourists in Cairo in seven years.
