More Poor Sportsmanship from Korea

The people and nation of South Korea have many admirable qualities, and I am glad to count some of my very best friends among them. However, athletes representing South Korea have a notable problem with sportsmanship.

The most recent example of this came at the conclusion of an international soccer competition in China. South Korea won the tournament, and while posing with the championship trophy - The Panda Cup - one of the Korean players posed with his foot on it, like the old Safari photos. It was highly disrespectful, and just the sort of thing that China is really sensitive about.

The usual apologies have been made, but this is how long-lasting grudges are born and China is very good at holding grudges.

They didn't stand on a Chinaman...they won the trophy. It was theirs. I disagree on this topic.

That’s not even how championship trophies work. I guess you never got near one.
