According to a recent poll, about 96% of conservatives said that violence should not be used in protesting while only 66% of liberals polled agreed.

But considering what we have seen thus far, this should not be surprising.

Yea, did not see any fires in DC January 6th and it was only one protest.

I am not surprised. As a gun-owning conservative, all I want is to live in peace. I don't own a gun so I can go out and shoot somebody for whatever reason, I own it so I can defend myself and my family in my own home. Hopefully that will never happen, but I'll be damned if I'm going to be helpless while other people of whatever color or creed do their worst to me and mine.

That seems very specific to the issue of defending the the country.

THe study in the OP highlights that libs are much more inclined to use violence to get their political goals...which frankly history has shown to be true....not just recent history with the four years of violence, by the left, but the Civil War, KKK etc...and even overseas, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, Castro and the list goes on

what country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms. the remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. what signify a few lives lost in a century or two? the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants
