This story is NOT SAYING she means to confuse students about gender in general or their own sex. What it says is she wants to confuse her students about HER OWN gender, which she describes as non-binary, whatever that is. She's eccentric, but she isn't malign toward them, I'd say.
If she "identifies" as non-binary, it stands to reason she is trying to confuse people about what sex she is. Mission accomplished. I don't think she should be a teacher, but maybe I'm wrong, as she doesn't seem to be purposely harming anyone.

This is exactly what parents need to be protecting their children from in the schools and public places in general. The fact that this teacher is actively attempting to confuse the students make IT unworthy of being in the educational profession in any manner.

High school can learn about gender, but only the REAL meaning of it: that serious problem with all the many different endings in Latin. And French and German.

The entire sex/gender issue should not even be in the classroom. Kids have all the porn available to them now a days to make up their own minds on the subject. The statist left is simply obsessed with fringe sex where more normal folks are more obsessed with the all critical love/affection spiritual connection of a relationship. Regarding sex & the statist left sex is nothing more to them than over glorified masturbation. What gets to me is something like 40% of the human body is comprised of nothing more than salt water, but still the statist left worships the physical human body!!! Watching any critter giving birth is amazing! No drama, no distress, she knows exactly what to do. Humans sure do know how to destroy the simplest experiences in life.
The statist left is so far gone that they can no longer be taken seriously by rational Americans. Yes, the creatures given to humanity by our Maker are well stepped into what they need to do & survive, especially along side with mankind. Likewise we as rational humans also know instinctively what to do to make sure our 'creature gifts' KNOW that we really do love them. With only 4% of Americans actively engaged in hunting the scene is morphing from hunting to Deer Whispering! With me going into semi retirement this April 25th(only will be working two days per week) I will be zeroing the White-Tailed deer(better than no deer @ all) herd that traverse my acreage daily. I am increasingly engaged with the deer whispering community online. This community appears to be growing rapidly with both urbanites & of course us folks out in the stix/farming community. Even residential folks have been found to harbor deer in & on their property.
Lynn Smith in Texas has two million followers on YouTube & appears to have TWO LARGE herds of the super exotic Black-Tailed deer(most sought after deer in the USA for wild but domesticated to them only pets). These B-T deer appear to me not the same color as the Columbian Black-Tailed deer that both you & me are familiar with but are every bit as drop dead gorgeous(see vid below). Cabin Squirrel zeroed then anchored a herd of Mule deer & has them eating out of her hand in record time no less. She's a rookie but with what appears to be a dozen Mulies in that herd of hers has a new family for life! Comment & subscribe to our posters to have an enjoyable time!

Yeah I was prepared to be disgusted by this, if her goal was to obviously confuse children about themselves. But clearly, the children are confused about the teacher's gender. I don't like that necessarily, but as you say, she's not imposing that on them that we know of.
