Evidently the shooter was impersonating a cop. Both shootings were early in the morning at the victims' homes. The victims are/were both Democrats.

Is this a beginning of some kind, or a single act based on something specific? I guess we'll find out.

Two Minnesota lawmakers were shot in their homes in a targeted attack, officials say

CHAMPLIN, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota mayor says two state lawmakers were shot in their homes early Saturday.

Mayor Ryan Sabas of Champlin said state senator John Hoffman and state representative Melissa Hortman were shot, and that Hoffman’s wife was also shot.

A person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press that investigators believe that the suspect may have been posing as a law enforcement officer. The person said investigators were still working to establish motive for the attacks and were still in the early stages of an investigation.

Gov. Tim Walz said the shooting was targeted.

Hoffman, a Democrat, was first elected in 2012. He runs Hoffman Strategic Advisors, a consulting firm. He previously served as vice chair of the Anoka Hennepin School Board, which manages the largest school district in Minnesota.

Hoffman is married and has one daughter. Hortman is the top House Democratic leader in the state Legislature and a former House speaker.

Minneapolis is a dangerous place, these kinds of thing happen.

It would be awfully ironic if the perps turn out to be Illegal Aliens let into the country by the Democrats.

It was early on that there was a claimed suspect in hand but that info was not included in the presser so it's suspect.....As is so much early info during shootings involving multiple locations and the same perp.

A Minnesota state lawmaker and her husband are dead after what police are calling a "targeted" shooting early Saturday morning. A manhunt is underway for the suspect, Vance Boelter.

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (FOX 9) - A shelter-in-place alert was sent out at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning by the Brooklyn Park Police Department after multiple shootings. A suspect in the shooting may be impersonating law enforcement and should not be approached.

Authorities are also telling people in the area not to answer their door for a police officer unless it's two officers together, or call 911 to confirm the identity of the officer at your door.
