A Minnesota state lawmaker and her husband are dead after what police are calling a "targeted" shooting early Saturday morning. A manhunt is underway for the suspect, Vance Boelter.

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (FOX 9) - A shelter-in-place alert was sent out at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning by the Brooklyn Park Police Department after multiple shootings. A suspect in the shooting may be impersonating law enforcement and should not be approached.

Authorities are also telling people in the area not to answer their door for a police officer unless it's two officers together, or call 911 to confirm the identity of the officer at your door.

I don't know who did the shootings, and neither does Tim Waltz. for him to drag his fat mouth to the mic and declare that this was a politically motivated shooting is disgraceful, and will only ramp up tensions.

Evidently Hortman has died, Hoffman is in critical condition.

No word on their spouses.

Suspect is being sought.

Hortmans spouse also died the other two at hospital.

Unless the guy at the presser just misspoke due to crossed wires in a complicated situation....

I think it was very strange the cops on scene just decided that they should go check on the second politician's house after the first shooting happened.

Perhaps they checked the list left behind then went on from there.

It sounds more professional to me. They had a police uniform and vehicle apparently. They still aren't sure if it was a REAL cop or not.

It could very well be a real cop at this point. Even one paid. Though this is of course less likely than an imposter. In the MN press conference, they said he had a gun, taser and all the equipment a cop would wear. One of the speakers advised to not open the door to unexpected police visits.

For the record this happened in Nova Scotia a few years ago and many were murdered by a dentist who collected real police memorabilia. He was so convincing, that he even killed a real cop.

If I were taking into account all I've heard, this doesn't sound like some haphazard politically driven hit. At least not in a lone wolf GOP vs Dem sense. Someone went to great lengths and detail to pull this off and they had to know the connection to the victims would be made.
