Not true. There have been a few times the party in power picked up seats, albeit, not often, but happened in 2002, for example. Furthermore, a 13 point lead by the opposition on the generic ballot is catastrophic for the party in power and that's not typical either, even in midterms.

I read somewhere that Pelosi said she was going to hang around instead of retiring. This brought to mind the Harris problem. I feel something is going to happen regarding Biden leaving the presidency. DNC knows Harris is a flat tire and an almost guaranteed 2024 loss.
