Moreover, party nominations aren’t run by the government. Parties can do whatever they want. They can have primaries, they can have caucuses, they can just choose a person. Don’t like it? Don’t vote for them in the election. It’s your choice. At the end of the day, all it does is changes who appears on the ballot.

Meanwhile, Trump was trying to get the government of states to change the rules after the election. The people of those states wouldn’t be given a choice. More accurately, their choice would be taken away from them simply because the authoritarians you support decided the people chose wrong.

If foreign exporters lower their prices in response to a tariff, they bear part of the economic burden of the tariff. Agreed? That burden effectively finances part of the tariff revenue collected by the U.S., even though the legal tax payment is made by U.S. importers. Get it yet?
