Michele Obama goes to China.. Forbids any reporters.

A lovely place to be unless your a dog or a fur bearing animal.

Lots of people in China keep dogs as pets.

I'm sure they do.

I'm also sure they would never eat the pet dog but loads of Chinese eat dog and cat. In fact Thailand, Viet Nam, the Phillipines and many other countries eat dogs and cats and have been doing so for thousands of years. They raise them specically to eat much like we raise cattle, pigs and sheep to eat.

I'm a dog lover and its beyond my ken how someone can kill a dog so inhumanely then eat it. Dogs aren't a food source here in the West. Thank God.

Who told you any way of killing an animal causes it not to suffer in some unknown way? Has one come back from the dead and explained to you how it feels? Injecting chemicals into an animal can and does alter certain things like the quality of the meat for instance. It possibly could alter the fur quality for those looking to impress with their furs stolen from dead animals.

Some of us are rational, and can see the suffering inflicted on the animal.

You, not so much....

I protect my dogs from harm. I can do nothing more than this. I have no impact on dogs in China. The Chinese don't look to me for approval, and don't give a damn what I think.

Some of you are "all knowing" or at least you think so. Animals have a highly tuned survival instinct. You dont know what kind of stress is induced in the mind of an animal that has been euthanized. Your all knowing self may not see it because the animal is incapable of providing a transcript of the experience or a slo mo replay of the event. Otherwise I agree. I they want to eat dogs and cats thats their business.

I for one would jump right on her ******* bandwagon.

EATING DOG AND CATS IN CHINA - YouTube

Loads more on youtube about the killing of dogs and cats in China for food.

One about the fur trade as well. They skin the animals alive. Those Chinese are real human beings all right.

Personally I wouldnt eat dog or cat but what is the problem if other people do? You should check out some of the practices we have here in the states. You can only be so humane in the raising and killing of animals for human consumption. When they invent a way for us to eat meat without killing an animal then we should jump on China with both feet.

False. The first dog I had when I was a kid was put down at the vet's. I didn't have the stomach then to go in and be with Harley, but instead a friend of mine did go in. Molly, the last dog I had euthanized died in less than a second from the time she was injected. She dropped straight down and did not suffer at all. Stray dogs in animal shelters are gassed to death in the U.S., which is also a very cruel way to die. Not as bad as the Chinese methods.

To get the furs from them, they have to kill them first and then take the fur. It would not make ANY difference as the quality of the fur. But no. It would only add a few pennies to the cost of the fur to inject the animals humanely like was done with Molly. They have a long ways to go to get there, of course, since we do not even do that in the U.S. Michele should speak up and do something about this crime against nature. It must be stopped.

Michelle has crossed speaking about HUMAN rights off of the list of things to do while in China. Hillary and Laura had the gumption to do that on their trips there. What on earth makes you think Michelle is going to talk about animal rights, and since she didn't allow any reporters to join her, how would you know if she did?

Dogs are not an efficient food source - no carnivore is. Rabbits and Guinea Pigs are the most efficient meat source, but the Chicken lobby is strong in America and have succeeded in winning the market.

I saw film of Tyson slaughtering chickens, and it was supposed to shock me, but didn't.

They had the chickens standing in a coop, a metal grid came down over their heads to hold in place, maybe a thousand birds, and a massive, industrial blade sent across, cutting off all of their heads at once.

My reaction was, "meh..."

The biggest difference between us and them is that we take our cruelty to the next level. Like everything else, we do it on an assembly line basis. We, in the US are so much more cruel that the dog-eating countries, there's really no comparison.

Nice to say you love dogs but all the animals you eat have the very same ability to feel pain as dogs.

If you keep at it, maybe you'll get to the point where you are unable to experience normal human feelings. You will have truly evolved when you can write garbage like this.

They gonna garrote her now?

No, just smile nervously and wait for her to leave, as usual.

Correct.

You seem to know a thing or two about China.

How do you think the Chinese feel about her visit?

Here is one of the first reports on her visit that I saw.

It was the eagerly awaited meeting of the worldÂ’s two most important first ladies.
But there was a clear winner when Michelle Obama met her counterpart Peng Liyuan for the first time in Beijing.
As photographs and television footage began to emerge of Mrs Peng and Mrs Obama touring the Chinese capital, the country’s online forums were quick to claim victory in the “battle of the First Ladies”.
“Our First Lady is so graceful and elegant, leaving Michelle far behind,” said one critic. “We have won this time,” remarked another. “Ours is more refined and eye-catching,” said a third.

she did? where and when? i dont think i saw that. can you post it?

You miss the point, there was nothing "cruel" about it. It was quick and put the birds in no unnecessary pain.

When I was young; Großvater von mir Huhn die Köpfe abgeschnitten.

Germans do that, a bent over nail, chicken under the arm, and the hatchet comes down. That Tyson did it on a larger scale didn't change anything - cutting the head off of a chicken is the proper way to slaughter them.

There is a large and growing animal rights group in China. Unless you are also going to condemn the animal brothels in Europe and the practice of raping dogs and cats to death it seems a bit hypocritical to target the Chinese for their abhorrent cultural practices.

It is gratifying to see the Chinese recognize what a graceless hulk our first heifer is and comment on it.

The Chinese press having somewhat more freedom than our banned or muzzled reporters may get some news that isn't manufactured.

Crimes against nature and animal rights are not classified as HUMAN rights.

Sounds like Conservatives and Communist Chinese are in agreement.

I suspect you thought that I didn't know that didn't you? Animal rights come in second to human rights, and that was my point.

Conservatives and the Chinese agree on many things. Gravity, America put a flag on the moon not Mars. Vietnam is one country not two and Big Moo is a graceless hulk.

If she had good sense she would have taken along a few members of the press who are in the tank for her and they would have filed complimentary reports about her visit. I don't believe the Telegraph is a conservative or communist newspaper?

MO can go on the record about animal rights any time she pleases. She isn't a hostage there in China, right?
