Miami Elects First Democratic Mayor in 30 Years

That is a contradiction in terms. How can it be non-partisan between candidates identified by party? That's partisan school boards can be non-partisan but not mayoral races.

There are many non partisan elections across the country. Our mayoral elections are non partisan.

It's just that partisans jumped all in on this election.

Trump endorsing Gonzalez was the key to Higgins victory.
And your proof that shows that this was the key is......

That means you rule out any and every other potential variable that might have been a key and then positively demonstrate that this was the key.

Given your track record of stupid claims, this should be fun to watch.

Don't Taz Me,

First, your avatar is hilarious. Good job finding that one.

It is no surprise what is going on. In my opinion, I believe the Republicans are going to get trounced in the 2026 mid-terms, not so much because of Trump, but because of the alarming ineptitude of the GOP controlled house and senate, I mean really what has the GOP controlled house and senate done??? I, I, I, ah can't think of anything really. Give the Democrats credit, they are unified in what they do, the GOP, they are too busy infighting and betraying their voter base, there is no real motivation to vote for Republicans.

Elise Stefanik one of the very few REAL Republicans completely exposed that pathetic half-pint RINO weasel, Mike Johnson as the deep stage stooge he really is. Many suspected it, but it took a brave REAL Republican like Stefanik to confirm it. Then you have the same RINO scum in John Thune. Trump is not only having to battle the Democrats, he is also fighting RINOs as well. If the stupid party, also known as the GOP was as unified as the Democrats, then they would have accomplished more and would most likely hold onto their majorities in 2026.

To call the GOP house and senate pathetic would in their case be considered a compliment. The GOP base is disgusted and while they would come out in droves to vote for Trump again (I know, he can't run for a 3rd term), but since we can't officially vote for him, the base has seen what a joke the GOP house and senate is, they lack the motivation to go out and vote.

I am not sure when, but I am going to put a post about the GOP, and yes, I am a conspiracy theorist, but, we conspiracy theorists look into things far deeper than most people. Sometimes we are wrong, usually we are correct.
I am on board with this sentiment.

The GOP at the federal level is a disaster.

Once again, your claim has no merit.

And yet, factually that is what happened. Lol
And yet, you haven't show how.

The fact that they identified doesn't matter. That happens in MOST places.

But they are still "non-partisan".

You don't get it both ways.

LOL

I noted it was nonpartisan but the nonpartisan Trump backed, lost.

Simple fact.

Americans appear to want to go back to higher inflation, taxes, open borders, and censoring in the media.

And they simply don't get enough of the clown show impeachment trials and lawfare.

So be it.

I think that part of the reason Miami has not turned blue like most other major cities is that their populace are full of refugees from Cuba who hated Socialism because they came here on inner tubes to escape it.

Problem is, that generation I think has more or less died off.
The backing of Trump, along with support for Trump immigration policies and methods, went against the Cuban American vote, important in a city with that many immigrants and children of immigrants, especially with the Trump administration, rounding up anybody of brown skin to bolster arrest numbers, for the MAGA crowd.

In reaction to the Miami vote, it would not surprise me to see Trump post National Guard troops and an immigration task force into that now Democrat controlled city, to show them who is boss and for political revenge.
