Cannon's ruling was nearly incoherent. It was going to add far more delay to the investigation than people expect. Just finding the special master and figuring out the parameters for executive privilege was going to take weeks upon weeks of negotiations.

Bad ruling and needs to be overturned at least in part.

No it wasn't. The judge cited numerous cases for precedent.

You need to fire whoever is feeding you your talking points and try thinking for yourself.

What precedent did she cite for a special master to review documents for executive privilege of a former president over the objection of a current one?

There is none. She made it up.

Notice how Eric Holder and Merrick Garland act like their Democratic President's hit man rather than an impartial head of the Justice Department? If only President Trump had such "loyalty" with his AGs.

Holder said he was Øbama's wingman.

LOL They took personal info too, such as medical records and lawyer-client privileged documents. The court properly decided the issue.

Garland and the DoJ don't get to decide if a former POTUS has executive privilege especially as there is a SCOTUS ruling saying a former President has executive privilege rights. Nixon v. Administrator of General Services, in which the Supreme Court rejected the government's argument that "only an incumbent president may assert such claims," holding that the former President could also assert the privilege.

Medical records and attorney client privilege documents were being sorted out by the filter team and going to be returned to Trump.

The former president does not get to exercise executive privilege against the current president. That's also in Nixon. That's absolutely bonkers to think he could do so. This would be Trump trying to keep administration documents from the administration. It makes zero sense but here we are.

On top of everything, the warrant violates the Fourth Amendment.

The filter team handed that stuff off to the other team. Such bullshit.

It's our legal system. If you don't like it write your Congresshe/she/him/her/it
Judge Cannon was making it up as she went along. It's not our legal system I have a problem with. It's judges going off feels rather than law.

Either way, the appeal is smart. The DoJ doesn't say they want to avoid a special master. The special master can go over all the non-classified documents. The DoJ doesn't give a shit about that. They want to investigate the handling of classified information. There is no logical way Trump can claim executive privilege or ownership of the classified documents so there's no rational reason the special master would have to review them anyway.
