Men who run into burning buildings, walk into warzones, and keep the worst of society locked away typically don't vote left. Does this matter?

Austin wants to raise property taxes to a person pays $1000 more each year. They need to go and do away with all police and fire so they can take care even more of their drug addicts and homeless.

Paddlefoot is twisting the facts yet again.

Austin’s city government is considering a significant property tax increase, but not by $1,000 per account—and not solely to fund services for people experiencing homelessness or substance use issues.

Here’s what’s actually happening:

💰 Proposed Tax Increase
  • The maximum rate under consideration is 60 cents per $100 of property valuation, up from the current 47.76 cents—a 25% increase.
  • For a median-valued home (~$500,000), this would mean an annual increase of about $87 to $243, depending on the final rate adopted.
  • The increase would require voter approval due to state law limits on year-over-year tax hikes.
🏙️ Where the Money Would Go

The proposed budget outlines funding for a wide range of city services:
  • $46 million for homelessness services, including shelter and housing
    • programs
    • $7.7 million for emergency medical services
    • $6 million for parkland maintenance
    • Increased funding for police and fire departments, including raises under new labor contracts
    • So while homelessness services are part of the plan, they’re not the sole focus—and the tax increase is nowhere near $1,000 per account.

"Why the hell do I have to press #1 for English? Did America move?"
Ah, that's a good one. I feel the same way at times. Thanks Mucho for posting that.

1. I have a buddy who is a cop adn has discussed that there are cops who lean left. He doesn't understand why, but they do exist.

2. Plenty of cops that seem happy to obey the rules of the hard core left from seattle to the uk.

I think we DO need some hard numbers before we assume the premise.

In regards to police their pay should double overnight and they should be able to retire after 15 years of service with a full pension.

Maga believes in the importance of the family unit .. cant be an incel and hold those views .. the left however endorse the destruction of the traditional family and even goes so far as promoting the sterilization of young people with their trans cult sex change rituals ..

So then you support doubling workers wages across the board so 2 full time workers can maybe, maybe, support 1 child. Right now, that isnt the case.

There are obviously exceptions to the rule, but I am speaking in general right now.

Right wing men disproportionately fill the roles, cultures, and mindsets that involve physical risk, sacrifice, duty-based identity, warrior ethos, and a willingness to die for what they believe in. Those aren’t just job categories; they’re dispositions, and culturally, the right is more aligned with that stoic, confrontational, protector archetype. That’s just reality. Most men willing to fight and die for what they believe in are on the political right. Most of the military, law enforcement, first responders, and tradesmen, jobs that demand discipline, sacrifice, and risk, are overwhelmingly right leaning. The right still embraces traditional masculine virtues such as courage, duty, honor, protection, and the stoic acceptance of pain or death if necessary.

Is there anything to be gleaned from this reality?
Pretty much all our friends and kin who are LEOs do lean right. I do have one great nephew, detective in the police department, who leans left and another fairly recently in the FBI who leans left. I have no explanation for that other than their parents also lean left.

doubling wages across the board ? don't see how that relates to my post ? leftwing deflection in the guise of a question .. I'll respond in kind to your deflection .. how many business would shut down if what you proposed happened commie ..

Epitaph on the Vietnam War Memorial: PROUD TO DIE TAKING A RICH KID'S PLACE

Being an HeirHead himself, Trump had inside information about the Birth-Class Supremacy purpose of the Vietnam War. He saw all his pro-war Preppy classmates weasel out of having to actually fight the Communists, so he knew it was all a deadly fraud.

The uninherited were told that RichKids would never get elected to anything if they used their Daddies' pull to get out of combat. That's what Joe Kennedy had told his sons; we thought that things had not changed since the Depression had put the fear of revolution into the heiristocracy.

To be clear, you are attacking him for not wanting to fight in a war.

I have to say, that is not... sounding very convincing to me.

It is easy to hold in contempt those who have some advantages or a leg up that other's don't. But who among us, if we had worked and built the power and influence to keep our son out of what we saw as an immoral and unnecessary war, would not do that? Who among us if we did not want to be part of what we believed was an immoral and unnecessary war would not take whatever means was offered us to not go?

Unless those condemning/accusing/ridiculing/disrespecting President Trump have encouraged their sons and daughters to join the military and think everybody should serve, they really should shut up.

Agreed.

For their compliants to have the weight they think that they should,

Trump would have to have been either a big war supporter then, or now.

He certainly isn't now. And I have seen no evidence he was then.

The left has gotten so bad at making arguments that they... don't seem to understnand how they work, at all.

It's based on reality, actually. I posted statistics in an earlier post.

I guess you don't understand how statistics works.
