McDonald’s posts biggest US sales decline in 5 years

We used to pick up BK on the way to the cabin. Loosey's the next day, went away after we stopped getting BK.
It's not like it's anything new....If I was headed to the hunting cabin I would just drive right by KFC/FF places, pop into the grocery store, and get a cooked chicken and a couple of decent sides for my supper after the afternoon hunt.

What you decide to put into your body is entirely dependent upon you.

Depends on Joel.

Maybe the dems are boycotting Mickey D's. :laughing0301:

Rather spend a few more bucks and get real food.
Mc Donald's has outpriced it's customers for low quality food.
Big Mac meal for 12 bucks?
Nope!! :eusa_hand:
You can do sit down Chinese buffet for 15 bucks.
No comparison....

Folks are saying FU to overpriced FF swill.....They have all gone off the rails....Taco Bell has laughable prices these days for what you get.

Pay $15.00 and hour (unless they are illegals) and what do you expect?

The food sucks, it's loaded with garbage, and their ads only seem to cater to black people.

McDonalds became an American institution and part of American culture a long time ago. Most McDonald chains have also been pretty altruistic providing free 'punch' etc. for youth groups like Little League and Scout fund raisers etc. over the years. They provided that important first job for countless teenagers. And their restrooms are usually clean and abundant for cross country travelers.

Their appeal has been in tasty if unhealthy, cheap, fast food. But they have been caught in the whirlwind of excessive minimum wages, inflation, shortages, etc. and nobody is altruistic enough to stay in business without making a profit. They may have to eventually hang it up unless something changes for them.

I hate to think of their demise because philosophically I would miss them. But I agree that their food has not become better--it is far inferior to what it once was which wasn't great--and the prices just don't justify buying their artery clogging stiff anymore. We rarely buy anything there any more.

Taco Bell, BK and Arby's have all taken on that minimalist architecture.
Only Culver's has kept their same look.

I remember when Arby's had the roasters cooking the beef fresh and sliced your meat to order. The place smelled so good.
Now the beef is that pressed crap.
Arby's was once my very favorite fast food place. But it has significantly gone downhill much more than McDonalds. I no longer buy their stuff.

The only reason I have patronized McDonalds in the last ten years
When I am on a road trip with my wife and she needs a restroom break, she insists on finding a McDonalds
I really find the food to be tasteless and overpriced

Arby’s menu looks impressive with a lot of options others don’t offer.
But I always thought their roast beef is flavorless and their other options are tempting but horribly overpriced and bland.

The 2 for 5 breakfast sandwich is ok...( Not healthy🤔)
The black coffee is very good

Used to be even better when it was Newman's.

Do the same thing, their restrooms are usually spotless.

I get their coffee a lot.

Years ago KFC served breakfast in my AO.

I swear they had the best sausage gravy and biscuits going.

Locally sourced fresh country sausage and your normal (at the time) KFC biscuits. Damn it was good.

When they moved to new diggs across town they quit with serving breakfast.

I like McDonalds coffee
I used to like an Egg McMuffin or Sausage McMuffin but find the quality has decreased and prices have gone up.
Their Hashbrowns are still good but horribly overpriced

Arby's horsey sauce or their regular sauce made their roast beef yummy. I think the reason it seemed flavorless was they didn't add a lot of seasoning--very low salt--so it really needed the sauce.

But while they once used high quality beef and you got a large, tasty, reasonably healthy generously filled sandwich, you now get a much smaller bun and much less meat of questionable quality for twice the money.

Their apple and cherry turnovers were once superior to anybody's. Now much smaller and less appetizing.

I fear for the survival of the franchise.

I like an occasional BK Whopper.....A guilty pleasure though it is the second most healthy FF burger.

Now instead of two Whoppers for $5.00 it's two Whopper Jrs for $5.00.

Oh well that "problem" is soon to be solved.....They are going to close down the BK in my AO.

I remember in college it was a treat for me to go to BK and get a whopper for 99 cents without a coupon.
