McDonald’s posts biggest US sales decline in 5 years

Nobody wants to pay high prices for fast food.

Taco Bell, BK and Arby's have all taken on that minimalist architecture.
Only Culver's has kept their same look.

I remember when Arby's had the roasters cooking the beef fresh and sliced your meat to order. The place smelled so good.
Now the beef is that pressed crap.
Arby's quality has declined.

The local Mickey D's in my AO looks like that and is filled with old people nursing a cup of coffee for hours and bullshitting every morning.....I'd toss them out on their ear or just close the dining area till lunch time.

Hardees did that years ago with the old farts so they moved to Mickey D's.
From 10 years ago, I believe this store eventually closed down, the entire story was some of these Koreans "sharing" a cup of coffee, so some were not even paying for coffee.

Folks are saying FU to overpriced FF swill.....They have all gone off the rails....Taco Bell has laughable prices these days for what you get.

Pay $15.00 and hour (unless they are illegals) and what do you expect?

The food sucks, it's loaded with garbage, and their ads only seem to cater to black people.

You don't even like the Presidential Big MacTrump meal, favored the Donny?

Every couple of years McDonalds appears to overprice its market and has to adjust.
I went to one last year and it was all computer screens. I just wanted sausage biscuit and coffee to grab for the road. It was...weird.

Enter your stuff on a computer and a person appeared at a spot on the side and gave it to you. No interaction.

Rather spend a few more bucks and get real food.
Mc Donald's has outpriced it's customers for low quality food.
Big Mac meal for 12 bucks?
Nope!! :eusa_hand:

I can get a $12.99 Burger and Fries at my local tavern
Burger is much bigger and freshly made. I can also get a pint of beer for $3.50 vs $3.00 for a soda at McDonalds

Seems to be a trend of fast food these days to serve bland food out of bland depressing buildings.
There is also the school of thought that the latter modern photo is reflective of the irreligious trends. Lacking in energy and spirit. Reminiscent of old Communist regimes like the USSR. Drab, depressing, lifeless. This corresponds to minimalism which we also had during the lifeless 1960s. Cars, buildings. All had thin straight lines. This also corresponds to lack of fertility and disparagement of motherhood and families. Contrast this to the early 1950s when cars and furniture were full and round (corresponding to breasts and motherhood, and religiosity).

Hopefully with Trump, we will return to that fruitful, optimistic, happy religious time. I see it happening now with the demise of DEI structures.

You would think those automated kiosks would be more convenient.
I am like you….I just want a Big Mac and a drink
But they make you go through so many screens with so many questions just for a simple order

I really hate the kiosks.
Then they have the nerve to put a tip screen on when I did all the work.
Just nuts.

Neighborhood pressure campaigns against the circus style FF architecture anymore..... usually capitulation to local governments for permission to build.
If so, do you always get a stomach ache when you are done eating a cheeseburger and fries?
QP w/cheese put me to sleep after eating one at work.
I'm glad, it serves as a warning not to eat there.
TB= Mexican Ex lax.

We used to pick up BK on the way to the cabin. Loosey's the next day, went away after we stopped getting BK.

Well, no shit.
Thats my point. I can order it and have it ready. If you are going to replace the people and make it hard for me, then its easier for me to go somewhere better. Raising Canes is our go to fast food joint.

Does anyone eat at McDonalds very rarely, like me?

If so, do you always get a stomach ache when you are done eating a cheeseburger and fries? There is something about that meal that gives me a stomach ache, even though the meal (when fresh) tastes good. I'm glad, it serves as a warning not to eat there.

I'm amazed that people order this food on DoorDash, I view it as emergency rations when traveling.
I haven’t eaten there in decades and only because my Mom wanted to go. You’d be better off eating bugs

When I was in Thailand Mickey D's actually had the best coffee, there were a few places in Bangkok with good, "drip" style coffee, but most served up an Americano for coffee. I rarely interacted with anyone at the counter, it was all done at the kiosk and unlike the one I encountered in the U.S., they all worked perfectly. No need to pull out my wallet, just used Apple Cash. It was too easy, but yea, it was really impersonal.
