McDonald's Phasing Out Fountain Drink Machines

McDonald's Phasing Out Fountain Drink Machines

Just wait, they'll phase out their ice cream machines next.

Geesh, I would have no idea. I haven't been to a Mickey Dees since at least the 1990s if not the 1980s. Are they even safe to go inside now?

They were so much nicer back when they actually had arches over the building, and you either walked up to the window, or even better, when the girl came out on roller skates and took your order then brought you the food.

Great idea. Americans should drink less soda. Don't fall for the bs marketing from Coca Cola that Zero stuff is a "healthier" soda. It's same as saying smoking light cigarettes reduce the chances of heart disease and lung cancer.

McDonalds food is bland

I used to think so too, but now since they've been making real burgers I love it. Their chicken and French fries are delicious as well. 😋

Yikes! Now I might have been getting refills without knowing that I should be paying for it first, but I would NEVER do something like that. 😮

Is that a trend with all McDonald's restaurants now? Our local one still has an arch.

Healthy soda? That's a joke!

Those were the days. America was cool and service was great. America had it all and we just threw it away.

You could do everything from get dinner to go see a movie without even getting out of your car; the car window: the perfect platform from which you could hang anything from your dinner for the evening to the speaker from which to listen to your movie.

You dinner cost a buck, and they showed two movies and two feature cartoons plus even had a playground for the kids. All ruined because we let in and raised people to ruin and run down everything.

Now a robot takes your order, prepares your meal, and you pick it up, and your movie is in a dirty theater with a sticky floor covered in crap, and all you see now is one movie without even a cartoon.

No seat belts, no safety seals, no security cameras, no problem.

That street sign there looks like it was made for the arches, but it was either never installed or blew off or something.

Those arches were everything. They even had yellow neon tubes on them and lit up at night.

I don't like McDonalds. Them phasing out the drink machines is probably a cost cutting measure, as well as them wanting to cut down on the number of employees they need - as well as cutting down theft.
Let one of their employers get it for me instead of handing me a Cup

Seems that they are only "phasing them out" in the more "shady" neighborhoods.

The same neighborhoods that had to hide the condiments, napkins and straws behind the counter and close the lobby at sundown.

Why doesn't that surprise me and TroglocratsRdumb, I know that you said that you didn't like McDonald's, but would it be different if Trump was taking your order? 😁 That was so awesome when he did that. :D

Even our president of The United States is a McDonald's fan. 😁

Also whatever happened to Ronald McDonald, The Hamburglar, Grimace, and whoever that bird character was? 🤨

I’m up for rallying in protest. Let’s go to Boston and dump soda in the harbor!

Who’s with me?

20 years ago..maybe---but times have changed.
The fountain drinks were customer accessible to save on the employee's having to waste time pouring and interacting.
The sodas did not cost that much then. Only a few cents or so per cup of liquid and they charged much more of course. I do not know about now.

McDonald's was my first job, and people never hesitated to get soda after asking for a water cup.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. I haven't been inside of a McDonald's recently. Giving customers clear cups would help catch most of the soda stealers, those who didn't go for the clear drinks like Sprite anyway.

Do I even want to know?

Apparently not though from what I just heard. I've been alive for 36 years and nobody ever told me that I had to pay to refill my drink. It makes sense now that I've heard it, but this is literally the first time I've heard about it.

I don't go to 'all of them' but here Whataburger, McD's, Dairy Queen, and Taco Casa, and an indie I go to do, along with every regular restaurant refilling drinks, of course.

True, but that make them the largest 'profit center' for the place. Many just sell food to you mainly so you will buy the drinks. That's why they like all the salt added to everything. It's why just plain tea costs so much in regular restaurants as well.

Yeah I know, but that wasn't the point that I was making. I thought that there were always free refills at fastfood restaurants though. 🤨
Such things can only exist in a civilized society.

American society is feeling the effects of the WEF/Democrat mass human trafficking operation into America to collapse the country.

Democrats = traitors
