McCain dead

If indeed this is true, it is not unexpected and so very sad. We have few statesmen, few people willing to cross the aisle and work with the other side, and fewer still who regard their political jobs as a service. I did not always agree with him, but I respected him, a lot. I am sure many will villify him, but to start an OP on his death with a remark about Trump is a disgusting politicization of a sad event.

Funny, that is not how the Left painted him when he ran against Obama in 2008. Read this from the Huffington Post

McCain's Secret, Questionable Record | HuffPost

The article paints John as a poor student who was at the bottom 1% of his class, and he became a pilot only because his daddy was an admiral. Then he was shot down, presumably because he had no business being a pilot in the first place, and was set free because his daddy was an admiral.

The article then says that John had such a low aptitude for the military life, that he would never make admiral like his daddy, so he bailed and became a Congressman instead.

My how the Left hated John and his military service back then, back when it meant winning elections

The President is Class personified. In spite of all the hatred Sen. McCain gave him over the years, President Trump shows he was raised right.

Who the **** puts an exclamation point in a condolence statement?
----------------------------------only a SMILIE woulda been better JLaw .

The President isn't gauche, he knows a "SMILE" is an inappropriate emoji for someone's death.
--------------------------------------- depends on the message being sent . Remember , you are in the USA and not Poland now P.P..
------------------------------------------ As polite as possible but always remember that its American rules that count in America and we mostly ignore and disdain rules dreamed up by 'polocks' and other fureigners PolishPrince . --- :afro:

How do you spell Leftist ???

After reading many of these posts all I can say is that all dignity, decency and respectability has abandoned and fled the new Republican party. It is now just a collection of bitter, angry and unhinged individuals. The Republican party of old is dead, buried and wasted away.

So...you're saying the Right has adapted to the normal tactics of the Left, showing the Left what it feels like and it hurts ???

Yep. Republicans used to be better than that. Times have changed, I suppose... Sad!

Ya know, when people are attacked, generally they eventually stop being polite and respond in kind.
Yeah, the Right USED to be so respectful and polite.....THANK YOUR LEFTIST PALS....hopefully more to come. The Left in contrast has been nasty for as long as I can remember.

The Right tried the "nice and respectful" path and it didn't work. You deal with rabid dogs a bit differently. That's the lesson the Right has learned.

------------------------------ hope so JohnLaw ,

It is a degradation of ones self to mock the dead. For they cannot defend themselves. My misgivings toward the man while living are well known. There is naught to be gained by pissing on his grave before he’s even been placed in it...
I would have pissed in his face alive, had I the opportunity.

McCain made the phrase "reach across the aisle," a term of ridicule. I'm so glad he is finally dead.

I'd like to see Superstar Billy Graham appointed to serve out the rest of McCain's term. I don't know where he stands on the issues, but Graham knows how to give a good speech. Graham is from Paradise, AZ.

Here is John McCain before brain cancer

I'm a democrat, so I agree. Getting back to McCain, I consider him a prince and gentlemen and he will be missed in the Senate. Take a look at the following. It is well worth watching.

Regardless of political party, McCain is what America needs in politics, integrity, honesty, and a deep desire to serve our nation.
