The only reason the Epstein files being released or not is an issue is because Trump said he would do so on the campaign trail correct? Biden could have released them but no one was screaming and gnashing their teeth that he wasn't. This was a non issue until Trump made it an issue. Correct
Epstein was dead in 2019, in 2020 Trump's DOJ grand jury indicted Ghislaine Maxwell on sex trafficking and sexual abuse of a minor....from the Epstein investigating they had done and evidence accumulated in his file....they got that indictment....Trump's team, under William Barr...indicted Maxwell.
Biden's DOJ took over the prosecution of Maxwell using the Epstein "file" evidence. It could NOT be released because it was being used in the Maxwell trial prosecution. In 2022 Maxwell was convicted of sexual abuse and sex trafficking and sentenced to the 20 years.
She appealed after the verdict to a higher court and lost. But she filed a petition to the Supreme court asking to review a certain aspect of her case, the Doj had counter replied, NO....now the Maxwell lawyers counter replied to the DOJs response of disagreeing and all those statements gathered and are before the SC on why they should take the appeal.
And it wasn't that Trump demanded the files be released during the campaign. His followers DID, and they believed if Trump were in office, that he would break the deep state holding back the info on Epstein and the other old geezer Paedophiles....yes, that is what they called the underage child sex abuse, though technically incorrect. Trump was thought to be the Super Hero that would bring the paedophilia ring down!
Do you think Trump forgot that he was a client of Epstein? That it just slipped his mind that he fucked an underaged girl and was being blackmailed by this guy? Or at a minimum fucked an underaged girl via Epstein?
He wasn't a "client" of Epstein, Trump was Epstein's closest friend, for 15 years and Epstein is on tape saying that....
I don't know if I believe Trump was doing little girls...he talked about it, like it was okay on a Howard Stern show once that ...13yrs old and over was okay....but that could have been Trump just saying it for "shock factor" on Stern's Show?
And allegedly a lawsuit brought by a girl when 13 claimed both Trump and Epstein raped her, but it was dropped, but then reinstated and then dropped again...so who can believe it?
And there are the Statements on Stern's show from Trump confessing going in to the miss teen America dressing rooms and checking out their beautiful bodies....
And comments he made about Paris Hilton's looks when she was just 12 yrs old...
But even with all of that...I find it hard to believe young underage girls was his thing...his girls on display in public were in their 20s, of course he still might have been approaching 60....
What I do think, is he was cool with his best friend and billionaires affinity to it. He turned a blind eye...To each, his own, type thing.
Trump could have pardoned Maxwell when he was President the first time couldn't he? She was indicted before the election, so once he lost if she were a threat to expose his predilection for banging underaged women why wouldn't he have just pardoned her then? It seems a dubious plan to bank on her keeping quiet all through the trial, through conviction and incarceration with the assurance that if Trump is elected again he will move her to a "better" prison
She had not been tried yet. Normal pardons come after conviction and admittance to the crime being forgiven for....
And that pardon move of amaxwell, after Epstein's alleged suicide, would have been bigger than the crud he is going through now with his friend choices.
