Blah blah blah, NASA. Suffice it to say that it wasn't easy to make a drone that can fly in very little atmosphere.

The drone will be a big help in scouting ahead or going places the main rover itself cannot get to.

Unfortunately they are saying that they can do 5 or 6 test flights and that it will go about 150 feet for a couple of minutes. I guess even NASA has to take baby steps before going they can walk. Not much bang for the bucks.

Hope this goes off better than the radio controlled airplane I got for Christmas one year. It had a total of about 33 minutes flight time until I ran it into a tree..

No trees on Mars -- but it does get "windy" up there. Hope they check the weather channel..

It is most likely a thousand dollars worth of parts that added a hundred million dollars to the price of the mission. The helicopter or device to fly is long overdue.
