The numbers are probably lower because they don't have an underclass of sloth they use for votes.

You don't have an underclass kept in dependence for the purpose of garnering votes for democrats. Your system is more like a normal healthcare cooperative except it's coordinated by the state. Any version of that in this country becomes another welfare program and costs honest and legit taxpayers more while running the quality down.
It's not about being 21st century.
It's about being pragmatic.
