Many paths...one God?

Precisely.
And since it is called a "proof", it also undermines, or at least raises serious unanswered questions about the meaning of the word "proof"
Incorrect. It's not a proof. It's only a proof if it is correct.

In the discipline of algebra, the determinant of validity is algebraic protocol. Follow the rules correctly, and the answer is true.
I'm not defending algebra.
I'm not claiming two different numbers are equal.
Instead I call attention to the fact that this thing called mathematics isn't the tightly sealed package of perfection some may have us believe.

By trying to combine dissimilar terms. You can't add and subtract dissimilar terms. So you didn't follow the rules correctly.

If you want to prove this thing called mathematics isn't the tightly sealed package of perfection some may have us believe then you will need to do so by actually following the rules of algebra.

Yes, so says this Christian. It's simple algebra.

The rest of what you wrote is just you lashing out because you aren't secure enough to allow others to have different beliefs than your own.

that's you bing - your way or the highway. algebra has nothing to do with your response.

their point they are masking is well known. proof or not.

It's not well known. That was my point and I proved it with algebra. It has nothing to do with my way or the highway. It has everything to do with the proper application of algebra which the example he provided didn't follow.

You don't do a partial substitution with a variable you are solving for and then continue to solve for the variable you just substituted for.

My offer stands. Discuss the validity with an algebra teacher.
Any algebraic operation has a name, "commutative" for example. Find any of the operations listed that is not justified by a specific algebraic operation.

I'm an engineer, bro. I understand math and science.

Wrong. The phrase religion is the opiate of the masses means it dulls the pain of the people. Socialism has usurped Christian values for the same reason. Socialism is a religion. Ergo socialism is the new opiate of the masses.

Socialism is your opiate.
Geez.

Dulls the pain to what end?

Obviously you know little abut religion or a Jeebus would say
"RENDER UNTO CAESER.."

That doesn't mean what you think it means, but putting that aside socialism dulls the pain of living by promising to take care of some and assuaging the guilt of others.

GEEZ. You are absolutely ignorant of the Christian Bible aren't you?

"Render unto Caeser that which is Caeser's, render unto God that which is God's."

Obey the law, pay your taxes and worship ME.
The very foundation of all governments is religious backing.

Nope.

I've never encountered anything presented as definitive on it.
As a pragmatist I suspect the leadership was first. After that the utility of religion as a manipulative tool.

The government model I find more realistic is the Mafia / "protection racket" model.
- The Mafia? If you don't pay up, they break your legs.
- Uncle Sam? If you don't pay up you go to the federal pen. They're both "protection rackets".

And that is Faith. Problem is...a lot of religions insist that theirs is the only path.
There is only a single path to the true living God. Jesus said-- Enter through the narrow gate( single path) for cramped is the way that leads into life( being saved) and FEW are the ones finding it. For many have entered the broad and spacious path( all other paths) that leads to destruction( eternal)
Jesus compared these last days to Noahs day.( 99% plus mislead) He said the world took no note.
The path is this--Matthew 7:21-- Those that ( live now) to do Jesus Fathers will, get to enter his kingdom. Jesus also taught--Man does not live by bread alone, but by EVERY utterance from God( Fathers will) That entails studying the whole bible over and over until one knows every utterance--Few do.
Many claim to be christian. Few make the grade in Gods view of things.

One path:
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

One God:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
She said Jesus was a LIAR

Somehow I can't see Jesus saying either one of these things. I think each time the scriptures were rewritten they were embellished a little more and more so there's no choice but to interpreted Jesus as God. That way the church could rule absolutely. It was just another scam.
