Over the next decade, the
U.S. is projected to lose more than 1.5 million jobs to automation. China is slated to lose almost 12.5 million, the European Union will lose nearly 2 million jobs and
South Korea will lose almost 800,000. Other countries around the world are expected lose 3 million jobs to robots by 2030.
We know that 80% of manufacturing jobs from this country moved to automation and not to China.
People keep saying we are losing millions of jobs to China, while China is losing millions of jobs. And they’re losing their jobs to automation.
and this is why education is so critical and so important. Because those kind of jobs that don’t require education are simply going away. They’re even looking at automating truck driving and taxis. Whoever thought that could happen?
Pew survey finds majority of Republicans continue to hold negative views of impact of higher ed -- a development that began before the election of President Trump.

Results from another recent Pew survey indicate that those views have persisted. In July,
only 33 percent of Republican survey respondents said higher ed had a positive effect. And 59 percent believed higher ed had a negative effect on the country’s direction, the highest number in the survey’s findings so far.
