Dumb controversy. Ignorance abounds.
Thought for the day
-Santa Claus-
My son came home and told me that a classmate had told him there was no Santa Claus & he asked me if I believed in him. I sat him down, looked him in the eye and said "yes, I do." "But I've never seen him and the ones at the mall aren't real." He said. "No, they're not the real Santa" I replied. "But, you know that happy feeling you get when you see him? The feeling we get when we put up the tree and pick out presents to give to those we care about?" "Yeah." He said with contemplation. "Well, that's real enough, isn't it? That's what faith is, Wyatt. Not seeing something, yet knowing it's there because of it's effect on us. Like gravity, we can't see it, But we know it's there because of its affect on things around it." My challenge to you today, dear reader, is to challenge your faith, or more specifically lack of faith in Santa Claus. We as adults have long been spoiled of the notion that there is a Santa Claus. But, maybe we are all wrong. If we can't see him with faith, maybe we can see him with logic. I see how this time of year affects us all, we become generous, nostalgic, more loving and soften our usually stiff demeanors. And it makes us feel good to lose the weight of our selfish burdens, even if it's just for a moment. I bet if you look, you may find yourself wondering if Santa indeed really does exists, possibly not in a physical form but certainly in a strong spiritual and symbolic one. And maybe the gifts he brings us each year are something far more valuable than physical possessions as well. Have a good day, and remember, we're all in this together.
