It would never happen, but the provinces should each be a state, not the entire country. Even if the rest of Canada agreed, Quebec would balk, under our system they would lose their special rights and identity,

We already addressed this in a prior thread. Maybe Trump reads this forum, it wouldn't be the worst idea as there are some interesting ideas on here from time to time.

Ironically, in 1990 or 91 there was a referendum for Quebec to leave Canada, and the "No" side, won with 51% or some minute number like that.

One of the pushes by the Block Quebecois government at the time was they said "we will join the U.S". That is how much they wanted to leave. The U.S didn't weigh much into the situation because it was at a time when countries respected other nations sovereignty, but I believe Clinton did say "our Canada includes Quebec". I think they were mum on the issue of joining the U.S though so it makes you wonder if America might have considered it if the Yes side had won.

At least five "states". Some would be more "conservative"; Pierre Poillievre will be the next Prime Minister, eh?

Lots of details to be worked out but it would not be impossible. Keep in mind, the States are free to have socialized medicine if they choose to do so, it's the Federal Government that is precluded under our Constitution.

The United States of North America would be the largest country on earth.

This is HILARIOUS....the winning almost hurts now. Almost....

I actually saw an ad for Ontario on TV. Saying how great it is, what "great friends" we are, how much they depend on us, etc.

Forget that. We got nothing but puritanical chiding from Canada for the last 20 or so years. They can pound sand.
