A lot of Canadian's cross the US border to see a doctor.
Also we have the latest and most innovative medical technology.
Which is why rich people from countries all over the world fly to America for medical treatment.

Sounds good if you don't mind waiting a year of longer to see a doctor. ....
Well, on regular check ups, it's not much more than it is here in the states, but, for more serious stuff, it's not that long, but however long, it's better than never for the 25 million americans who do not have access to affordable health care. If you rebut with 'they have emergency rooms to go to', that is, as I will explain, is flawed argument.

Let’s get something straight--suggesting that Canada should become the 51st state is the geopolitical equivalent of licking a frozen flagpole in January. It’s not just a dumb idea--it’s a historically illiterate, diplomatically disastrous, and logistically impossible fever dream that could only emerge from the depths of the most cartoonish, chest-thumping nationalism.

First off, Canada isn’t some unclaimed wasteland just waiting for a big, dumb, red-white-and-blue pickup truck to roll in with a giant "U.S.A.!" bumper sticker. It’s a fully functioning, sovereign nation that--unlike a certain neighbor to the south--manages to provide universal healthcare, avoid mass shootings as a daily occurrence, and maintain a political system that isn’t a reality show where convicted felons run for president. Canadians didn’t spend centuries carving out their own identity just to be swallowed up by the very country they define themselves against.

Second, if Trump actually thinks Canadians would line up, waving little American flags, begging to be absorbed into a country with a broken healthcare system, crumbling infrastructure, and an education system that thinks “critical race theory” is the reason kids can’t read, then he’s more out of touch than a rotary phone. Canadians are not interested in trading in their Parliamentary democracy for a system where the Supreme Court might overturn their rights based on the personal whims of unelected, robe-wearing ideologues.

Then there’s the military aspect. What’s the plan here? Is Trump envisioning a full-scale invasion? A forced referendum? Because short of that, the only way Canada is becoming part of the U.S. is if every single Canadian collectively suffers a head injury and wakes up thinking that switching to America’s metric-challenged, gun-obsessed, fast food-fueled circus is a great idea. Even the most conservative Canadians--who might roll their eyes at Trudeau--would rather drink maple syrup through a straw for the rest of their lives than see their country’s flag replaced by the Stars and Stripes.

And let’s not forget the rich irony here: the same people cheering this asinine idea are the ones who lose their minds over the idea of immigrants “changing American culture,” but suddenly think Canada should be absorbed wholesale? How do you square that? You don’t. Because this entire notion is just another absurd, historically ignorant, ego-driven fantasy that only someone with zero grasp of international relations--or reality, for that matter--could take seriously.

So no, Canada is not becoming the 51st state. The only way Trump could accomplish that is in a children’s coloring book where history is whatever he wants it to be.

Same reason people fly to Brazil for cosmetic surgery. Moreover.....

While it's true that wealthy foreigners sometimes come to the U.S. for cutting-edge treatments or specialized surgeries, there's a significant and growing trend of Americans going abroad for medical care—and the reasons aren't flattering.
  1. Cost, Cost, and More Cost – The U.S. has the most expensive healthcare system on the planet, often charging ten times more than other developed nations for the same procedures. Even with insurance, many Americans find themselves drowning in medical debt. That’s why hundreds of thousands of Americans travel to places like Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Thailand, and India for procedures that cost a fraction of what they do in the U.S.
  2. Prescription Drug Tourism – Americans routinely cross the border into Canada and Mexico to buy prescription medications at a fraction of U.S. prices. Insulin, which costs over $300 per vial in the U.S., can be had for $30 or less just across the Canadian border. Seniors and diabetics making border runs for life-saving medication? That’s not exactly a glowing endorsement of "the best healthcare system in the world."
  3. Dental Work & Elective Surgeries – Dental care in the U.S. is so overpriced and inaccessible that an entire industry of "dental tourism" has flourished in places like Mexico. In Los Algodones, Mexico (a.k.a. "Molar City"), U.S. retirees and middle-class Americans line up for root canals, implants, and crowns that cost 70% less than in the U.S. Similarly, elective procedures like LASIK, bariatric surgery, and cosmetic surgeries are routinely done abroad for a fraction of the cost.
  4. Medical Tourism for Life-Saving Care – It’s not just about elective procedures. Americans desperate for affordable cancer treatment, heart surgeries, and transplants are traveling to places like Cuba, India, and Singapore, where the same high-quality treatments cost a fraction of what they do in the U.S. Some are even crowdfunding to afford travel and care overseas because it's still cheaper than staying in America.
  5. Wait Times? Not Always a Problem Abroad – The typical talking point is that other countries have "long wait times." Sure, in places with socialized medicine, non-urgent procedures can have waitlists, but urgent, life-threatening conditions are treated immediately. Meanwhile, in the U.S., if you're uninsured or underinsured, the wait time isn't weeks or months—it's forever. Many Americans with serious conditions delay or forgo treatment entirely because they can’t afford it.
  6. Better Outcomes in Some Specialties – For certain complex procedures, countries like Germany, Japan, and South Korea outperform the U.S. in patient survival rates and post-surgical outcomes. Cuba, despite being a "poor" country, has developed medical treatments that are actually superior to those available in the U.S., like its lung cancer vaccine (Cimavax), which Americans have had to travel to Cuba to access.

Yeah

It’s great for the rich….

The Canadians might disagree.
I know that the rubes think this is all a big hoot 'n stuff, but the Canadians are becoming more and more convinced that they're in danger. Literal danger. From America. Regular Canadians are thinking this now.

We're living in a 1930's group pathology. Is Canada Trump's Ukraine?

When you become a high tax state with massive costs to provide for the citizens and it is growing faster than inflation realities hit with cold water thrown on the face. Canada gets a lot of complimentary services from us while running a trade surplus. We should stop patrolling their eastern and western coasts with naval ships and submarines. Let them build another hundred ships/submarines to do that. I propose we annex the northern parts of their northern territories bordering on the Arctic Ocean as United States territories as payment for us to protect them. The Western Hemisphere is far from the world realities and that is being reduced as we did this to ourselves.

It's as likely as trump admitting the following; he lost the 2020 election, he interfered in the 2016 election when he paid hush money to S Daniels, the trump Org. engaged in business fraud for decades, he broke the law by refusing to comply with a subpoena for the return of stolen classified docs, he plotted to steal the 2020 election, he raped EJ Carroll, he stole money from his charitable foundation, etc.

I saw an interview with a Canadian business writer the other day. She said Canadians are making all sorts of plans from not vacationing in the US to not buying US made products to seeking more reliable business partners. You can bet the citizens of every country trump has increased tariffs on are thinking the same things. That fat idiot is making us an international pariah.

See how long 5% inflation keeps us together as a nation. It strikes home more and more when we have these bouts of inflation with a declining fiat currency.
