Major Car Companies React to Trump’s Tariffs, Immediately Slash Prices for U.S. Buyers

I am wise in all things, a brilliant illuminator of facts and logic!

My antagonist made no statement that was supported.

I am all for domestic investment in the US. But thats going to take time and money.

So long story short, you lied and claimed expertise in an area a toddler probably knows more than you do.

I bet Ford wished it had a small affordable PU again instead of the 80K+ behemoths they have now....Hell, even their Ranger is about the same size of the new F150 I bought in '99.
Time for Ford to bring back the Courier…I had a 1972.

Two of the world’s biggest automakers just gave President Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs a ringing endorsement—by putting their money where their assembly lines are.

On Thursday, Ford and Volvo announced bold moves designed to take full advantage of Trump’s new 25% tariff on foreign-assembled vehicles. The message is clear: if you build it here, you don’t get taxed—and American workers win.

Ford, the iconic American brand that’s been making trucks and muscle cars since before most of us were born, rolled out a patriotic new promotion called “From America, For America.” The deal? Employee pricing for everyone, knocking thousands off the sticker price of eligible new vehicles.

“We’re going to offer customers the same deal that our employees get,” Ford Chief Policy Officer Steve Croley told “Fox & Friends.” “We make the most cars here, we employ the most, we export the most.” In other words, Ford’s betting on America—and rewarding Americans for betting on Ford.

BJ-

The “experts” told us that tariffs would be passed on the consumers as massive taxes.
Ford just announced employee pricing to all U.S. customers for the next few months. Trump was right again.
Americans are not bearing the brunt of these tariffs.

President Trump is always right.
Always.

good..because...$50,000 to $60,000 for a mid line truck is ridiculous. Auto makers have lost their minds with their prices.

That is not accurate. Personally I worked on major projects in the Southern US, ME, and a few in related clients in PretzeLand.

One can easily peruse the web however, and see timelines to build various things.

"projects"

That can mean anything from designing their website, to putting up drywall, to delivering said drywall.

Refinery and Petchem plants and expansions. Oilfield service. Before that power plants, various general business plants (power, light manufacturing, computer and avionics hardware) etc.

Now please find me something showing you can build a major automobile parts or engine plant in less than two years.

He didn't say build, he said re-start.

Again, what did you DO.

You could have been handing out coffee to the CADD operators for all we know.

This is what I considered should be the approach. If you are manufacturing in America and the media is telling everyone "prices are going to increase", the first position I would take as CEO is announce expansion of U.S plants and production and aggressively advertise CUTS on my vehicles.

That would be a goldmine for high volume sales and Trump would gladly promote it when media asks questions. "The CEO of GM told me that he has hired 5000 more Americans due to the tariffs and they are slashing their prices by 10% to take advantage of the momentum. Furthermore, since their European competition is paying a tariff now so GMs domestic production is protected in America in the same way European manufacturers in Europe are protected."
Meanwhile back in reality, Chrysler is laying off 900 workers and putting other workers on furlough. Dumbass.

A plant that has been idle for years? :auiqs.jpg:

I don't feel the pressing need to discuss my resume on an open board, thanks.

So therefore you have ZERO experience in this field, and thus were caught lying.

If maintained, why not?

Incorrecto. I don't have experience in autos, but I do have experience in analyzing construction projects.

Why would it be maintained? Please cite these mythical plants ready to go.

Now as a Ford example, they are currently building the Blue Oval plant in Tennessee. They started in 2021. Expected to be completed this year, with the first vehicles being produced in 2027.

timeline:

What is the timeline?

Ford announced its plans for the BlueOval City campus in Stanton in 2021. Initially, production of Ford’s new all-electric, next-generation pickup truck was anticipated to begin in 2025.

But slowing demand and heightened competition in the electric vehicle market spurred Ford to adjust its course in August, pushing back production at the new Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center until 2027. The decision was part of a slate of changes to the Michigan automaker’s electric vehicle strategy, including prioritizing hybrid vehicles, scrapping plans for an all-electric three-row SUV and scaling back annual spending on pure electric vehicles by about 10%.

The longer timeline will allow Ford to refocus on lower-cost battery production at BlueOval City’s battery manufacturing plant, which is expected to begin producing cells in late 2025.

Where did $28T go since 09'? At least 10% stolen, 10% wasted. Much revenue not collected but paid out to other countries in Tariffs ? Wake up. There is a lot to fix

Are you a Bob?

The most American made car right now is a Honda Ridgeline I believe
70% of the parts come from the US and Canada
I believe the second runner up is Ford.
Just about every big auto manufacturer in the world has production here in the US
And they're looking to expand and add other models

Gee I wonder why

Any second now some idiot's going to come along and say I'm wrong

F*** is wrong with people the last couple nights
Remember when Newsome did his mandate to buy only electric vehicles? The price difference went up by 20k, and not one mthr fking demofk in her said shit. Now a tariff that may make the price go up 1k and they're shitting on themselves. spare me the chicken soup. They care more about 1k then 20k? hahaahahahahahaahaha exposed is what has happened here to every mthr fking demofk in here. fk you all and I hope it hurts.

Plants are available that were shut down when the jobs went over seas and you said nothing. They can reopen them. Why is that so hard for you to figure out? do you walk on your brains?

Yes they can, but they will still take years to retool and refurbish. Nothing wrong with that. I support it, although I'd actually build those plants in New Detroit (Tennessee) or Texas.
