Mail-In Voting, Revisited?

I can’t disagree with you here…however, I think the answer is a voting holiday. Everyone is allowed to take that day off to vote, and there needs to be many places for people to go vote, so they don’t have to wait in line for hours.
Or you could just have mail in voting and extended days to vote

Best part is it really pisses off Conservatives

Yeah, it does piss off conservatives and right so, because it opens the door for people to cheat. When you have voting that takes place over a week or two and a 170 million ballots being sent out to anyone and everyone where voter registration procedures are flimsy, no voter ID is required, ballots being mailed to addresses where people USED to live, or to places where there are no residences at all, voter rolls that contain outdated information, dead people still on the rolls, cats and dogs on the voter rolls, and the lefts resistance to purging the voter rolls to make sure they are clean and up to date.

When asked if they could ensure that mail in voting would be secure, the left always says “voter fraud doesn’t happen in siginificant numbers”, which , we’ve never had mail in voting on the scale that the left is calling for, and also, that statement is kind of misleading, because who knows how many people cheated, or voted 2 or 3 times, but never got caught.

We’ve had a procedure in place for many decades. We have voting “day”, and if for some reason, you can make it to the polls, you request an absentee ballot, with an explanation.

I’ve said it before, I would be all in on mail in voting, if there was a way to ensure its security. I mean, it would be so easy, and so very convenient, but the excuse of “some states have had mail in voting for years” isn’t valid, because some of them are actually absentee voting, where you have to request a ballot, and, what you all are asking for is for a ballot to be mailed to every “eligible voter” in America.

There are almost 170 million eligible voters in America…sure, there’s no possible way THAT process could ever be a problem..

Can you imagine making voting so convenient that people are encouraged to vote?

Republican ideal for voting

This is incorrect, ballots are counted under observation by members of both parties.

You are talking about ONE instance in GA where some of the election workers were released for the night and the observers took it upon themselves to leave. They were actually welcome to stay until everyone left. Even then observers are allowed to observe, they are not required to observe (under GA law).

Because we have these things called computers. When a voter is issued a ballot it is logged (whether that be mail-in package, or in-person check-in). They know exactly how many ballots where issued, and they know exactly how many ballots were counted.

If you have 1,000,000 (ballots issued) and 1,500,000 (counted) - then that will flag as a major problem in the post initial count audits. It would trigger a recount under even higher scrutiny and there is no way the multiple ballots would be counted multiple times as ballots are segregated into batches, and batches are a defined quantity.

Except when those other observers are being told they have to stay 10-15 feet away….

But there were several instances where the amount of votes counted exceeded the number of residents for that area…so, were those extra votes culled out and rejected?

Yes, I can imagine it, can you guarantee that there will be no voter fraud with 170 million ballots running through the mail?

They get to observe the ballot process, they don't get to stand over the shoulders of the workers.

Feel free to link to any reputable source for this information.

Typically these reports are based attempts to paint "population" from a decade old census count and not comparing the number of votes to the number of registered voters.

Good point
170 MILLION ballots and you can’t identify any serious voter fraud.

Mail in ballots WORK
Safe and convenient

It is foolish and dishonest to believe that more people voting is a good thing. The people who give a shit will always vote. The people who are relatively informed will always vote. "Get out the vote" campaigns draw in people who are not well informed and are susceptible to charlatans promising "Free" this and that, or scaring them about someone planning to take away their Social Security (or some other entitlement).

Democrats know this, and depend on the clueless vote for their survival.

And for the record, Absentee Ballots are fine. They are relatively secure and justified. Unregulated mail-in voting is a formula for disaster, which is what we had in 2020.

For the 30th time.

About 10% of the states--red states, blue states, etc... have had mail in voting for many election cycles. Never, not once, has anyone questioned the validity of the elections they held. The only loser from an election that was held 3 years ago questioning the validity of mail in voting is the blob. Zero evidence of massive voter fraud has ever been presented.

If anything, we need more mail in voting, same day voting for registration, and after hours voting,
What is better, Mail-Voting or Absentee Voting? Please explain your choice and why.

Mail in voting without having to “show” why you’re voting by mail. Also called “no excuse” absentee voting.

Why? Because the voter gets to decide how they wish to cast their ballot. If they have their mind made up the day it opens...boom. Vote early and forget about it. If you’d rather wait, and research the candidates in the comfort of your own home with your ballot; you can do that too.

On this board, we often ignore that there are many state constitutional amendments, propositions, bond issues, etc... Its isn’t always two candidates running against one another. Some of these issues can be complex. Voters should have the opportunity to contemplate how they will vote and have access to any and all study material while casting a ballot.

Well its not good for republicans. You guys have turned being repugnant into an art form. Its great for society and everyone else.

So where were you when the 8 or 9 states that do 100% mail in voting were doing it in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018? Strange how you guys never had an issue with those candidates being elected from those states... Never a peep about massive voter fraud...not that you could prove it then or now.

Amazing! But your orange God starts crowing about it and you suddenly supposedly see a problem?

There is a word for people like you. Programmable.
