I was all set to blame Trump due to his cuts in good things like National Weather Service instead of bad things like the military.
But actually, when I think about it, Texas has more extreme weather problems than anyone else, so likely should have its own state weather warning system.
A federal weather warning system is not necessary.

I worked, lived, and traveled in Texas for 2 years and never got cellphone service outside of cities.
And again, the warning on cellphones or anything else, came only 3 hours before the flood hit.
That was not enough time.
The flood warning was made at 1:18 PM.

But it was then always lower than the Mediterranean water level.
So it was a matter of time before it flooded.

The flood in Texas is not about a huge amount of rain as much as the slope being perfect to concentrate it quickly.

But they weren't spending that before the DOGE cuts. It isn't like DOGE tore down sirens on flag poles. They never existed. The weather service sent out warnings via phones like they did before any cuts. The outcome would have been EXACTLY the same with or without the cuts. This is just a media spin to harm Trump politically.

I agree, I haven't spoken about DOGE because I think this is a local level thing. However it's not like Trump's going to be saying that now people need to spend money on such a system, is it?
