They are their children's classmates. They go on field trips together, volunteer at the school AND the church.

But one of the first places they raided, if you could call it that, a church, rounding up volunteers. Boy Howdy, the community leapt into action. Mothers escorted friends children to school. Complete strangers showed up on the doorstep of immigrants afraid to leave their house, groceries in hand. Yes, baby formula, a complete enterprise was set up delivering that formula to families holed up in their house.

Now, what does this remind you of. I mean literally, is it not clear? Can you not see the path in which we are going? Someone has to stand up for the weak. Someone has to display courage.

I mean maybe I live in a unique place, and yes, we have a large immigrant population. Hell, always have. I mean the Native Americans all became Mormons and went West, for the most part. Everyone here is an immigrant or descended from them. And I guess I see the benefits of those immigrants better than most. And at this point, it spans generations.

Myself, my family, we have been here longer than this country has been around. And so have many of my neighbors. And I am here to tell you, we defend our fellow neighbors. We stand up for the people in our community who contribute, who bust their ass, who make this world go, and we don't give a fat rat's ass about their citizenship status.
