Lying to ATF on gun-purchase form yields few prosecutions, data shows

Was the law applied correctly?

Or was it massaged only to get the defendant off the campaign trail and in a court room?ces at all costs and He could appeal and win, sometime after the election, but the damage would have been done.

Actually Trump kept delaying the case, with motion after motion, like the years it took to get Trumps income tax returns.
It was Trumps delay tactics that stalled the case until he could announce his run for the presidency.

It could have all been over in 2023 if not for all his interlocutory appeals.

Trump isn't allowed to appeal?

Crimes that resulted in three Federal felony gun charges...... :happy-1:

Actually the first two were for lying on the firearms form, you republicans typically call a "process crime".

The third charge: the third count was for possessing a gun while addicted to, or using, illegal drugs..

That law was recently overturned in the 5th circuit, based on the USSC case of New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen

A federal appeals court on Wednesday ruled that a decades-old law prohibiting users of illegal drugs from owning firearms was unconstitutional

Bank fraud - OK
Government fraud - OK

We already knew this.
They want as many restrictions on the law abiding as they can get because they know these restrictions only affect the law abiding.
Breaking these laws only provides an excuse for more restrictions.

Yet I was right and you are still wrong.
That makes the first two NOT gun crimes, since they were charged under 18 USC 1001.
The same charge as when you cheat on your taxes.
Doesn't make it a tax crime.
