Louisiana lawmakers want Ten Commandments in all public school classrooms

Tell us about the book and who banned from there school?

One of the most banned book in schools in America is

Pride: The Story of Harvey Milk and the Rainbow Flag

Could you show us the explicit material

Seriously, you still back to pushing your religion through state education...

As for Pride the word... has multiple meanings...

So you want stuff banned because they sound the same as a word you take offence too..

BTW, we can't teach about Thanksgiving now too because of you and the sin of Gluttony...

Plenty of other books showing sexual acts, and you know it.

How is Thanksgiving about gluttony?

Tell us one.
Now it has to be clearly more explicit than the Bible...

So just as you take offence at the worde Pride, someone else could take offece at Thanksgiving considering its association to a deadly sin Gluttony...

I think it is pretty clear that you are trying to say your morals are more important that others morals.

Tolerance is OK, acceptance shouldn't be forced.
You don't have to accept. Just keep your mouth shut and your opinions to yourself while you're at school. Want to vent when you're home in front of mommy and daddy?..fine. But they can keep their mouths shut too.
Rage about it at home amongst your family. But don't bring it to school.

I guess you are a pig at thanksgiving. figures.

The thanksgiving celebrations in schools don't promote binging.

The Pride celebrations do promote said lifestyle.

So why shouldn't the pride side be forced to do the same thing?

US LAW is is based on Judeo-Christian Law and Ethics. The 10 Commandments in the schools is a good move. No one is saying they need to worship God, believe in God, or become a Christian. But, the Commandments are a good basis for kids to have structure.

Plus, Jesus likes the Commandments and you people are always saying what a great Liberal Jesus is so this should be win-win for everyone.
Which ones? The original Hebrew text has 2 versions (Exodus and Deuteronomy). Various translations translate them differently. They also number them differently.

So what version do you use?

Because the last time I looked, being gay or being trans doesn't cross the boundary of the separation of church and state..
Again, tolerance and acceptance. To each their own. Live and let live.

Figured you would hide behind that. Pride celebrations are basically religious celebrations without the religion. It's an end run around the whole point of separation, which was to keep public schools neutral and debated topics out of them.

Tolerance fine, forced acceptance, of which pride celebrations are a part of, no way in hell.

Again, remove the first three, what is so horrible about commandments 4-10?
Number 4:
Exodus 20:7-10:
7 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
8 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work;
9 but the seventh day is a sabbath unto the LORD thy God, in it thou shalt not do any manner of work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates;
10 for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested on the seventh day; wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Deuteronomy 5:11-14
11 Observe the sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD thy God commanded thee.
12 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work;
13 but the seventh day is a sabbath unto the LORD thy God, in it thou shalt not do any manner of work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy man-servant and thy maid-servant may rest as well as thou.
14 And thou shalt remember that thou was a servant in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God brought thee out thence by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Do you guys observe the Sabbath with a complete cessation from work?

Nope. Again, we are talking about the "don't be an asshole" part of the 10 commandments.

If you remove the first 4, how are the last 6 in any way an "endorsement" of Religion?

Well, perhaps if the religious would practice tolerance and acceptance, you might get your wish. But since the overall message of the religious is that being gay or trans is a sin against God, it is acceptable to respond with by means necessary to purge the behavior from any place or person that could accidentally occupy the same space as their child. But since that isn't the case, I'm all for forcing the religious to keep their friggin mouths shut. You wanna grip?..do it in church.

Bullshit. They just don't want schools trying to impart morality on their kids they disagree with.

It seems between the two of us, you are the bigot.

Free exercise isn't limited to the houses of worship.

Again, covet is used in the context of envy. Not sure where and how you think I am excusing the acts. Today’s school cultures have reduced the emphasis on accountability and more on excuses.
So when it talks about coveting your neighbour's ass, it's about envy for a donkey?

Sorry, nice attempt at transference, though.
If they object to their children being around these other children, pull you child out and place them in private/religious schools.
If you truly posses the strength of your convictions, then the sacrifice isn't too great.

Why should they have to do that when they pay taxes for schooling as well? How about just make schools as neutral as possible and let the morality fights take place outside said schools?
