Lions vs Chiefs to start the year

I can't believe people bet on WWE wrestling. Knowing that the matches are decided ahead of time. And can be changed at the last minute. Like if Vegas told Vince to have the Miz lose tonight because they'll make a lot of money if he does.
Thats how it works in all sports. They win, you lose.

The Lions beating the chiefs was unexpected. Could it be after 65 years of losing they might actually be a super bowl contender?
Let me add to what I said. It may have been the same year I was describing earlier. We were winning our division. Ahead of Green Bay. GB was losing games they should have won and we were losing games we should have won. They tried so hard to hand us the division but god damn it we refused to take it. So we made the playoffs as a wild card and got knocked out first round. Rather than get that 1st playoff home game we should have had. Instead Green Bay got it.

Yea but I don't think a football team is cheating for Vegas. Of course the new Vegas Football Team might be but you know what I mean.

Didn't Vince join up with UFC? I don't trust Vince or Dana White. Would it even be illegal for Vince to throw wrestling matches? It's fake, his company and pre determined. He doesn't have to give his justification to anyone why he chose to have one person lose. They could totally get away with rigging WWE matches and no one would know nor do I think it would even be illegal. It should be but would it be?

He was running for 1st downs in the 1st half but then he didn't seem to do a lot of that in the 2nd half. I'm hoping that's because the Lion's D is good this year.
I think it’s both because the Lions defense is good and Mahomes is injured

Corrupt sports gambling wins again--keep betting, they are laughing all the way to the bank.
 you nailed it. I just got done watching the highlights of that game from last night and noticed in that game, the chiefs recievers were dropping passes constantly last night. passes that were EASY as pie to catch,I MYSELF would have made those catches as would anybody else posting on this thread would have as well.

I changed my mind about this being a blowout by the chiefs when jones was not available, thats the same as losing mahomes as quarterback.that changes what the chiefs defense can do drastically.coupled with the loss of Kelsey as well i figured this was going to be a close game just as it turned out to be.

However not having kelsey or Jones available for this game had nothing whatsoever with the chiefs losing last night. Jones and kelsey were not the ones out there dropping easy passes thrown to them. Those passes were so easy to catch i MYSELF could have caught those passes and everybody posting on this thread could have as well.

Even without kelsey and jones i figured the chiefs would still win this game, that this game was a lock for them and that they would win tonight but lose next week to the jags. what i OVERLOOKED however was the NFL is a corrupt cartel, every bit as corrupt as our government is. The game has gotten far more corrupt sense the late 90's than it was back in the days when i was little.

these are PROFESSIONAL sports players, once in a great blue moon i can see a receiver dropping an easy pass but they were doing it ALL THE TIME last night. I GUARANTEE those recievers were paid off. that they got a lot richer last night.

This was the biggest game of the year in the NFL other than the superbowl. In prime time games like this and playoffs and superbowls, there is lots of money involved. Most football fans were picking the chiefs to win last night. Lots of bookies got rich last night because the fix was in.

It was not that unexpected. DET finished last year winning a bunch of games after a terrible start. QB threw only 1 pick and 11 TD at end of year. KC was w/o holdout DE and start TE. Mahomes was Mahomes, but kinda reckless at times.

KC looked pretty bad overall. KC receivers do not appear to top tier. They will have hands full to beat Jacksonville in the heat next week.

They were one of the hottest teams in the league late in the 2022 season. I'm not that surprised.
yeah but you HAVE to be surprised and stunned big time that all these recievers who are PROFESSIONALS were dropping easy passes all night long that even i would never have dropped nor would you, when you get that high up at the pro level, you DONT make those kind of mistakes.thats the kind of performance i would expect out of grade school kids.

this was the biggest game of the year other than the superbowl. when a big prime time game like this is played there is LOTS of money involved. those receivers were obviously paid off so many bookies could get rich the fact the majority of sports fans were picking the chiefs to win.

Just watch, next week when they go to play jacksonville, they will not be dropping passes constantly. everybody will probably be picking the jags to win next week after the way the chiefs played last night so bookies will probably get rich again as well with another fixed game.

kjw47 hit the nail on the head.that this game was fixed and people are suckers watching all these games that are scripted with the outcome already decided before the game begins.

The KC holdout is invalid. He is under contract for like $20million (7th highest paid in league for Defense). He signed the Contract willingly. Now he decides, I want more? HUH? Let kids run the asylum? Good on KC to not buckle in. Let him sit out for a year then franchise tag if that is possible, his ungrateful butt.

So then all the years it was Lion's dropping the passes, that was on purpose?

Oh boo hoo. The Chiefs played like the Lion's usually play. Waaah they didn't have one or two guys. Sorry bro but if one goes down, who's the next man up? I didn't realize the Chiefs were so fragile that one or two guys being out means they suck.

Which is it? Did they suck because two of their best were out or did they throw the game?

If this is scripted they you must believe Roger Goodell has it written so the Lion's finally win their first Superbowl. He can't rig it so Kansas City wins every year.

DET Defense is much improved over the team of last year that started the year giving up like 30-50 points per game in the first 7 games with 6 losses. They scored 45 pts and lost last year.

Maybe they'll cheat and put sticky in their hands so the ball sticks.

At the top of the list are Mike Evans's hands. The Bucs wideout had eight catches for 152 yards, but left a lot of plays on the field. Evans was credited with six dropped passes by ESPN Stats & Info, which is the most in a single game by a single player in the last 10 years.

Which teams had the most dropped passes in a game?

Green Bay dropped 30.
Bills and Tampa Bay dropped 29 in one game

How many did Kansas City drop last night? 8

If anyone rigged the game to lose it was the Chiefs coach and how he managed the clock towards the end of the game. Down 1 he should have let the Lion's score and go up 8. Then they would have had a chance to tie it.

I though the same thing. I don't know why we don't see more of that.

I also noticed DET celebrating with nearly 2 minutes left? Yeah they had the ball....but they did everything but dump the Gater Aid bucket. What if.....they had a bad snap fumbled kneeldown. DET should know how to act at end of games.

Basically a pretty boring game overall. Not much action? Clock just runs and runs. They don't run many plays it seems? Maybe it was because it was early season? But it looked pretty bad. Mahomes is very reckless on weird throws. But won the last two SB? what do I know? College has more action during games.

I thought the same thing. Cheering too early. The coach should be serious and lead by example. No cheering till it's over.

oh i know that but it was so obvious this game was fixed with those recievers paid off to drop those passes.

Nobody can sit here with a straight face and tell me they themselves would have dropped all those easy passes thrown to them. i would NEVER have dropped those passes they were so easy to catch, neither would you. when you are that high up at the pro level, you dont make mistakes constantly as they did last night, once in a great blue moon but not constantly, not at the pro level, their performance was on par with grade school children. it does not take a genius to see the obvious, the fix was in.

as i said earlier and as someone else said so well as well, lots of bookies got rich last night from lots of suckers who cant see these games are as much scripted as pro wrestling.

That last late long pass from Mahomes that the guy dropped was not that easy? was it? It was on him quick, looked odd?
I was glad to see DET win but I had trouble staying on the game to watch it with so many commercials. I am spoiled rotten now from REDZONE NFL.

Mahomes had a couple of wow throws, but not as many as usual, and he looked super slow. Maybe losing their offensive coordinator is a big deal.
He also didnt have his #1 WR. Not having Kelce is a huge deal. I doubt this game ends up meaning much in the scheme of things.

But that shit happens to the Lions all the time. So have the Lion's been dropping them on purpose all these years?

You're just not used to seeing the Chiefs do it.

Reminds me of last year when the Bills looked invincible. Suddenly one week, probably around week 13, the Bills suddenly were no longer unbeatable.
