The charges against Trump were clearly indicated in the indictment. The indictment itself has been posted. Those charges were bumped up to a felony because he engaged in criminal activity in order to hide an intent to commit a crime or hide a crime. Those crimes were clearly indicated in the Statement of Facts. The Statement of Facts has been posted. And no, Trump doesn't have to be charged with that crime, nor does it have to be a felony. Those are FACTS. Now I see you, fingers in your ears as you sing "La, la, la".
But you damn skippy this is going to blow up in people's faces. Hell, I almost want to call it a stroke of absolute genius, if I could believe it was a political move and not a legal move. But the reality is Trump really did falsify business records, that much is clear. And this ain't Bragg's first rodeo. The charge of falsifying business records has been used dozens of times to bring down everyone from insurance fraudsters to drug dealers. But the whole fiasco has thrown a red flag in the face of the raving bull that is the Trump base. Now, Trump is almost certain to win the Republican nomination. But make no mistake about it, as he continues to face even more indictments, spends even more time in courts across the land, he will be so soundly thumped in the General Election that it will make Reagan/Carter look like a squeaker. The House flips back to Democrats and the Senate majority continues to grow. The Republican party will never recover. It will be an historical "blow-up".
