like father like son - rand paul lone vote against idiotic law

Caring about the health of miners is desperate? Unbe-fucking-lievable. By the way, kooky cons are the ones who spent a year screaming that Obama wants to kill granny. So, please, spare me the faux outrage.

Killing granny is right in the plain text of Obama's healthcare monstrosity. What do you think happens when Obama's board says her treatment is too expensive for the benefits obtained?

It's amazing that the Conservative bitch and bellyache about unions when it's their policies that created the need for unions.

There is no need for unions, period.

Bullshit. The common working people disagree with you.

A worker enjoying everything unions have done for ALL workers saying that unions aren't needed is like cursing farmers with your mouth full.

Then you go elsewhere to work....I've done so numerous times.

You wanna be a PROUD coal miner with black lung, that's your funeral.

So if you want to keep a house in your family, your answer is tough shit? Seriously. You're the problem. If companies are going to hire workers, they are resposible for the well being of those workers.
The answer is don't be a coal miner.

You don't want to potentially get in traffic wrecks, don't be a truck driver.

You don't want to potentially drown, don't be a commercial diver.

You don't want to potentially lose an arm in a combine, don't be a farmer.

Life's tough...Shit happens...Wear a helmet.

Yeah!

Let's cut out all that unecessary safety gear and stuff for our fire fighters and police officers too!

Second chance vest?

Who needs em? If you don't wanna get shot and killed, don't be a cop. In fact, why are we even paying for their guns?

Gas masks and heat proof protective gear? Tough shit ... if you don't want to burn to death or die of smoke inhalation then don't be a firefighter!

Well it doesn't surprise me. Republicans hate anyone not making a million dollars so of course they don't need regulation, its destructive to their actual base. Millionaires and Billionaires.

Anyone who wants a job should be opposed to excessive regulation, and most of it isn't needed.

The liberal delusion that their policies only harm rich people isn't shared by rational people.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Not needed? Thats the biggest crock of shit I have EVER heard. Their is a REASON REGULATION EXIST. Because businesses didn't regulate themselves.

Mining companies have to pay the medical bills of any employee injured on the job, so they are responsible. However, they aren't responsible for providing anyone with housing or anything besides the benefits they have agreed to.

Furthermore, the only miners who get black lung disease are the ones who smoke, so it's largely a self-inflicted disease.

Yeah...You clicked on that damn link too, huh?

no shit, we should ask the mods that a WARNING be posted next to any links to THAT SITE.

What about Fox News?
What about it?....Links to Fox are almost always noted in the links, as a matter of course.

Seems Huff-n-Puff is held in such low repute that they can't even openly pronounce themselves as the source in their links.

No kidding. Oddball really hates himself for not being a millionaire that he has to ruin everyone's life because of it. Take some Prozac buddy.

There are inherent risks in every occupation. But companies have a LEGAL OBLIGATION to reduce those risks down to an acceptable level. It's called the cost of doing business. If they can't afford to reduce the risk then they can't afford to run the business.

It's posts like yours that backs up the claim that Conservatives don't give two shits about the common working man. People want to work but they don't need to die needlessly to do it.

And you people wonder why labor unions were formed???

.
Anybody with half a brain knows that black lung is a potential occupational hazard of coal mining.

If the guy going into the coal mine doesn't care about his potential future health more than the paycheck, that's not my value judgment to make...Nor is it yours.

Yes, but in the past it was a very common malady. But it's much rarer these days with improvements in filtering and ventilation.

And it's because the miners care about BOTH the coal industry AND their health that MSHA has laws regarding air quality.

And anybody with half a brain knows that taking precautions in the health of your workers is far cheaper than paying out the ass for worker's comp claims.

You sure don't know very much about big business, do you?

.

And you're the one talking about desperation? Is there something in the article that you have issue with? Did they not report on the facts of the story? If you have some proof that the story lacks credibility, then please, show it. Otherwise, sit down and shut the fuck up.

Other than Rand opposing a particularly costly regulations bill, what facts were in the article?

The facts are that legislation is being put in place that could save workers lives and Rand opposes it.

Enough said.

Who put you in charge of deciding what an "acceptable risk" is?

It's posts like yours that backs up the claim that Conservatives don't give two shits about the common working man. People want to work but they don't need to die needlessly to do it.

It's assholes like you that backup the claim that liberals don't care if no one in this country has a job and that all our industry is regulated into extinction. What is the limit of "acceptable risk?" To a liberal, the term "excess regulation" is an oxymoron.

Bullshit. The common working people disagree with you.

The "common working people" are ignorant and don't know what's good for them. If they did, then Obama wouldn't be president.

A worker enjoying everything unions have done for ALL workers saying that unions aren't needed is like cursing farmers with your mouth full.

Yeah, look what unions did for all the workers in Detroit! Go walk around the hood in Detroit and tell us what a boon unions are for the working man.

wtf? the COMMON working people?
How many common working people BELONG TO A UNION out of 350million people in the country.
what a friggen JOKE

Not needed? Thats the biggest crock of shit I have EVER heard. Their is a REASON REGULATION EXIST. Because businesses didn't regulate themselves.

Regulations exist because of 150 years of Marxist agitation. And, yes, corporations do largely regulate themselves. that is, the market regulates corporations. That and lawsuits.

Unions and government regulation are largely irrelevant to the issue of worker safety

That could tell me that that firefighters and cops are more highly attuned to the risks of their professions than some others, as much as anything else.

Then again, nobody ever died instantly from black lung either.

Still, if you don't want to potentially get shot by a street hoodlum, don't be a cop.

If you don't want to potentially drop through a wooden floor that has been compromised by flames from below, don't be a firefighter.

If you don't want to potentially plummet to your death an airplane, don't be a pilot.

If you don't want to potentially get smacked in the head by an errant golf ball, don't be a caddy.

The choices really aren't that difficult here.

When it's the only real work around in your part of the country it's hard NOT to work in a coal mine. My great uncle was a PROUD coal miner until black lung crippled him.

Hey that is that new mobile workforce of the new millinium.
Migrant workers, does anyone else remember that bull crap talk?
