Given what I have seen from "conservatives" over the last ten years, it's a shame they lack that capacity. Their untreated personal issues have turned them into ugly, spiteful, miserable creatures who don't realize they probably need treatment. So, to no surprise, they desperately turn to blatantly false idols who use them, but also make them "feel" strong, smart and more in control of their lives.

I will suggest that more liberals live in large cities which usually means higher costs for rent and food, more crime and stress of being in traffic all day, less "warmth" among citizens etc.

Yes, that is a factor, I'm sure. When I go to the city I see people walking the streets and none of them look very happy.

But, beyond that, Conservatives are happy because they literally pursue happiness. The founders were smart to include that as a goal of the Revolution.

Just as one example, if a conservative is unhappy livign in the city, they will try to move out to the 'burbs or a rural areaa. A liberal who is miserable in the city will console herself by blaming Trump, or some other bogey.

Somehow liberals enjoy their misery.

Beyond that, having Trump in power and/or unfairly boxing external factors rather than ones personal talent and sacrifices to succeed leaves people feeling helpless, whether warranted or not.

Take it from me, a legitimate victim of this helplessness which is most damaging as my entire life I have had a very strong, almost extreme internal locus of control only to be snookered by the state.

If this helplessness were unfounded it would certainly lead to unhappiness.

I will note that every study that purports to show higher suicides among transgenders denied "gender affirming care" are based on surveys. Actual tracking of suicide following GAC show more suicides among those getting this "treatment."
