Researchers tracked all "gender-referred individuals" under 23 years old in Finland from 1996 to 2019, a population of nearly 2,100, and matched them to more than 16,000 controls, according to their study in the Wiley-Blackwell journal Acta Paediatrica.

"Gender-referred adolescents showed significantly higher psychiatric morbidity than controls" before referral, 45.7% versus 15%, and the gap widened after referral, to 61.7% versus 14.6%, they found. . . .

The results were especially alarming for adolescents who received hormonal and surgical interventions to resemble the opposite sex. Psychiatric morbidity rose from 9.8% to 60.7% for males seeking to resemble females ("feminising gender reassignment"), and from 21.6% to 54.5% for females seeking to resemble males ("masculinising").

2) Many people might think that transitioning will solve their problems, but I doubt it ever does. People with mental illnesses will still have them afterward.

3) Maybe (this isn't informed, just a guess) people who feel like they're the wrong gender but don't have mental health issues just get on with their life, maybe that's what a gay person is. Those with issues might become those who want to transition.

4) I doubt that transitioning causes people to go from not having mental health issues, to having mental health issues.

My daughter played HS basketball and she played a pre-season exhibition game against a team then had a "trans" player. He was obviously a male, bigger, stronger, faster and far more aggressive then every other player on both teams. It wasn't even close. We lost by like 35 points.

I feel sorry for the league that ******* dick (in every sense of the word) played in. That no doubt won the league championship (unless another team had an even better, stronger, faster dick). He made a mockery of women's sports.

Back when I was in college, one of the people I had to deal with when I was in Student Government was this airhead who represented the Athletics group. Now, keep in mind, this was a State college that only had an athletic program at all because Title IX mandated it, and given its status, it's not like athletes of any caliber ever wanted to go there. However, because of Title IX mandates, one-third of our Student fees had to pay for this program and their scholarships.

Now, back then, old Joe (or young Joe) had to join the National Guard and work two minimum wage jobs to work his way through college. So this airheaded chick who was getting a scholarship for swimming at about half the speed of a man annoyed me more than anything else.
