Lets review the “case” the DA has on Trump. Statutes and violatons

Trump banged Stormy Daniels.

In 2016, Trump paid SD $130k to not speak about the affair.

Trump paid $130k to his attorney, Michael Cohen, who in turn gave the money to SD.

The transaction was recorded in the books as “legal expenses”.

The Manhattan DA‘s case is based on New York penal law 175.05. That is a statute makes it a crime to enter a false entry in the business records of an enterprise…a 2nd degree misdemeanor.

It basically means do not keep false books. This HAS A 2YEAR STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS.

DA cannot charge Trump with this, as the incident occured in 2016.

So, there is New York penal law 175.10…….a felony….if the intent to defraud by the false entry was in the commission of a crime.

The DA is trying to say it is a campaign finance law violation to pay hush money to someone.

Mueller already looked at this and decided it was NOT.

This case is bullshit.

Can you post the Email you got from the DA outlining their case for you?

Thanks

No. I think that all the testimony and evidence hasn't been made available to the public.

Speculation makes for great discussions but we just need to remember, we are only speculating.
But Federal Investigators had this information 3-4 years ago correct (whether the public was made aware of it or not)? Unless we believe that Cohen/Daniels have come up with more information since then. So why now vs then? What could this particular NYAG know now that the Federal Investigation didn't uncover or that he didn't have years ago? It doesn't pass the sniff test. Sorry.

It's hardly uncommon for new evidence or testimony to come available years after something happens.

It's pretty uncommon if the entire case is based on witness testimony and those witnesses stay the same isnt it? An additional witness, ok I'd agree. That's not what's happening is it? What new facts could be out there? Trump banged a porn star, Trump paid Cohen to pay Daniels to keep quiet about it. Cohen listed the payment as "legal services". What's the new information?

Time in prison will do that to you.

Having your livelyhood taken from you will do that to you.

Lastly, I have no idea who all they have called.

I doubt Trump offered Comey a deal where he takes care of his family as long as he does the right thing and not testify.

I have no idea. I'm just saying that if it's out there, they have the guy who knows where and what it is and that guy has a reason to now spill the beans.

Maybe it's all a big to do for nothing. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

I don't know.

You don't know.

The OPer doesn't know.

Perhaps we wait for the indictment to see what they have?

Who's been in prison?

Not Daniels,

Cohen served his time in prison and has been out for a couple years. BTW he didnt go to jail for this. He went to jail for tax evasion. NY doesnt have a carrot to offer him and they already used the stick.

LOL, you asked me who served prison time and then you tell me who served prison time. LOL

Grudges don't require a carrot.

Either I misheard or OP was wrong. I heard it was about paying Stormy Daniels to shut her mouth during the election, electoral intervention.

Not to mention many others have violated campaign finance laws and were never arrested, including New York's very own AOC.

It has nothing to do with him knowing or not knowing. The fact is that "Trump will go to prison" is his slogan, and we know his campaign has at least 1M from the Color Of Change Political Action Committee.

Your implication was that someone was in prison and got out because they were cooperating.

Grudges don't require a carrot.
You think the grudge Cohen has against Trump (if that's his driving force) grew since he got out of prison? That doesn't make logical sense.

I didn't imply anything.

I said nothing even close to that.

I was clearly speaking about Cohen.

LOL. of course it does.

I know Obama was busted for campaign finance laws, I think most presidents are. However; Obama was a democrat, so apparently it’s okay, or at least there weren’t conservative judges willing to abuse the system as a political weapon like modern democrat/leftists are doing more and more.

What leftists should at least admit is that they rejoice in abuses of power against their political enemy, and encourage future applications. As a conservative I wouldn’t want Biden to be unfairly charged with anything.. I backed him saying he was innocent until proven guilty as far as the claims of sexual assault against him (because I’m largely consistent), I doubt leftists would hold any sort of the same standard when dealing with Trump. Unless new evidence emerges, this appears to be murder 1 treatment for going 43mph in a 35 zone, much like the treatment of J6 rioters and even mere trespassers getting years of solitary confinement without due process.

Oh bullshit. You most certainly did. What else would have been the point of the comment?
LOL. of course it does.

Why would his grudge against Trump grow since he got out of prison? Was Trump fucking his sister after he got out? I dont understand why you think someone's animosity toward someone would grow after the offence is done? Cohen had no better incentive to dish on Trump than when he was faced with jail time. Let's be honest the only reason he ever faced jail time was because he didnt have enough dirt on Trump to begin with.

Oh BTW one of the reasons he went to prison in the first place was for lying to Congress.

We have had 2 Federal Agencies investigate this and not charge Trump. The DOJ and the FEC. But the Manhattan AG has uncovered something that they didn't? Come on.

I condemn Trump for not going after Hillary. IMO she is every bit as corrupt as Trump.

That Trump failed to do what he promised, I should condemn others for doing so?
